It's hard to get the right size – my foot is size 42, and depending on the brand, I wear between 42 and 43. Here, 42 was fine in length, but too wide – tightening the laces more caused the material to bunch up around the eyelets. Because there are several eyelets, and the lower ones have a stiffener sewn between them (I mean the area where the tongue is sewn in), these would bunch up a little while the others would bunch up a lot, so the shoe was more gathered by the second set of eyelets (it looked unsightly, and I'm not sure how this would perform in use). You can actually see this in the product photo. Another issue is the comfort of the shoe itself; the sole is quite hard, but also amazingly soft – as if there’s some plate in the sole wrapped in super soft foam. On paper, this sounds great, but the heel is also terribly soft and sags to the sides, so I didn’t feel a secure grip in these shoes. If I were to step on some stones, I’d have to be careful. If they were just for running, it’d be fine, but for walking/mixed activity – I have mixed feelings. In the end, the shoes were returned. I chose the Lowa Fortrux for better grip and improved foot stability.
