Rugged tactical pants sewn from durable RipStop material (55% cotton, 45% polyester), which is characterized by high resistance to abrasion and tearing, as well as high breathability. Elastic inserts (91% nylon, 9% elastane) in the waistband, side pockets of the pants, in the groin and in the knee area stretch in two directions, which guarantees comfort during any activity.
The pants are equipped with chambers made of 1000D Cordura for protective knee pads. In addition, the knee area is adjustable with Velcro.
The model has 10 practical pockets:
- two side pockets (with reinforcement at the bottom),
- two side cargo (with flexible entry system and zipper for additional access from the sitting position),
- two rear (with zippers),
- two patch pockets,
- two at calf height (closed with Velcro).
The belt loops allow the use of a belt up to 55 mm wide, and the two front ones are additionally equipped with polymer D-rings that allow the attachment of gloves or keys, for example. Along the bottom edge of the pants, Velcro panels are used to adjust the width of the leg.
The name MM-14 is an abbreviation for маскувальний малюнок (maskuvalʹnyy malyunok = camouflage pattern) and the year 2014, when the camouflage was officially approved. The pattern refers to the American UCP camouflage, but shades were chosen to match the colors naturally found on Ukrainian territory. The introduction of the MM-14 camouflage pattern was an important part of the Ukrainian army's reform to break with post-Soviet identification. Unofficially, MM14 camouflage also goes by the names Ukrainian Pixel Camo and Ukrainian Digital Camo.
