For a long time, I searched for a way to carry basic equipment to open shooting ranges. Finally, I came across the “Sheriff from the USA’s” review of the MiniRig, which convinced me to buy it. The build quality is very high, the arrangement of pockets and adjustment straps is ergonomic, and access to the contents is very convenient. I especially recommend it in this colour.

Helikon Training Mini Rig is a tactical vest equipped with adjustable and detachable H-shaped suspenders and an adjustable waist belt. It allows you to comfortably carry a supply of magazines, extra ammunition, tools, torch and everything necessary for advanced training. It was designed for people who are spending a lot of time at the shooting range, such as instructors, shooting enthusiasts and athletes.
A very big advantage of the vest is numerous pockets and compartments, including:
- main pocket with internal organizer,
- pocket on the main compartment,
- four fixed pockets for magazines for pistol, multitool, torch, etc.
- two fixed pockets for magazines for AR/AK carbine,
- dedicated internal loader in the form of insert for AR/AK magazines,
- central cargo pocket,
- detachable pocket with PALS system e.g. for a medical cartridge.
The magazine pocket flaps are adjustable and have position markers. The advantage is also a lower PALS panel, allowing to attach additional tactical equipment.
The vest is made of strong nylon and equipped with high-quality YKK® zippers. It is also worth mentioning the three velcro panels, which allow you to attach any patches or emblems e.g. the national flag, unit emblem or the so-called Morale Patches.

I bought this model for 200 PLN in a cool, denim colour. The vest is very practical, and for that price you can’t complain. The build quality is good, and it fits well even on well-built people. It lets you arrange all your gear comfortably. It’s really worth having.

I use this chest rig during rescue operations and it works brilliantly. Despite its unassuming appearance, it is very roomy, the Velcro holds firmly, and the finish is of a high standard.

It works great not only at open shooting ranges, but also for trekking or daily EDC use. You can easily adjust it even over large jackets or several layers of clothing. I’m 185 cm tall, 140 cm around the chest, and 110 cm at the waist, and I still adjusted it with ease – it’s really practical. Plenty of pockets and pouches are another advantage. Rifle magazine pouches can easily be converted into extra pockets. I still have to get used to using it with a rifle, as I usually used a belt and holster, which you can now skip. A Glock 17 Gen 4 fits in the rifle magazine pouch, although drawing quickly takes some skill. You can attach headphones to the loop under the magazines, and gloves on the other side. The colour is distinctive and stands out from the popular black, coyote, or camo. I agree with Piotr’s opinion from 27.12.2022. The width adjustment with strong Velcro means that both larger and slimmer people will be happy. The spaces for handgun magazines can also be used for carrying a torch, multitool, or even a small can of pepper spray. I recommend it!

Yet another Helikon product stands out thanks to the excellent quality of the materials used and the workmanship. The blue version isn’t typically tactical, but that’s exactly what I like about it. The design is very well thought-out and practical. I definitely recommend it.

The Mini Rig is very comfortable and spacious. The straps can easily be adjusted to your body shape and clothing. The number of pockets will satisfy even the most demanding users. What I liked most is the Melange Blue colour, thanks to which you can stand out from others at the shooting range or during airsoft games. That’s exactly what I value in Helikon. I wholeheartedly recommend it!
