Very convenient set. Everything you need to start a fire is always at hand. The box perfectly completes the kit, plus it’s a Polish brand. I highly recommend it.

Helikon Scout MK2 Fire-starting Set
The Scout Mk2 is a compact and lightweight survival kit that includes a ferrocerium fire starter, striker, tinder in the form of cotton, and solid fuel. It allows you to start a fire in various conditions without the need for matches or a lighter. The fire starter can be used to ignite a camping stove, gas burner, or open fire for warmth or cooking. The kit is ideal for camping and emergency situations. All components are stored in a metal container that makes storage easier and protects the contents from moisture and loss.
Ferrocerium Flint
The ferrocerium rod works by vigorously scraping the rod with the sharp edge of the striker. During this process, the cerium in the alloy oxidizes and ignites. A single strike produces sparks at a temperature of about 3000 deg. C, which can ignite dry cotton tinder even in harsh conditions such as heavy rain or freezing temperatures.

This is another purchase of this set for me. I was happy with the previous one, I taught my friends how to start a fire, and eventually I gave it to someone as a gift. Such a set should be in every backpack.
-
Small size, but it produces sparks without any problems. Less experienced people might have some minor difficulties. A nice box – you can always keep a bit of tinder in reserve.

The set is okay for me. Even though it’s small, you can easily produce sparks with it. Less experienced people might need a bit of practice. The box is an extra bonus – it will come in handy for a small supply of tinder.
-
Practical box with a fire starter and tinder. The downside is the striker, which produces sparks poorly. On the plus side, the kit is small. The tinder lights a fire effectively.
-
The metal plate is of poor quality, it produces sparks very badly. The rod is fine, the fuel produces a big flame and lasts about 15 minutes, and emits almost no smell or smoke – it’s a pity there are only two blocks. The box looks good, but because of the weak metal plate and compared to other options, I only give it 3 stars.
-
The set is very practical and well packed. I added a lighter and more cotton pads to it. The fire starter deserves praise for its quality. I honestly recommend it.
-
This fire starter makes sparks perfectly, it’s better than the Mil-Tec version because of the tin’s size. Advantages: it’s waterproof, includes tinder, fuel, and a survival tin.
-
Great box with a fire starter and tinder, the only downside is there’s no gasket to make it waterproof. But at this price there's nothing to complain about.
-
A very practical set. You can fit small items for lighting a fire in it.
-
Small, compact set – perfect for the car or a backpack for trips.
-
Nice set, I had trouble closing the tin, but I quickly fixed it by slightly bending the wire inside. It will definitely come in handy in the field.
-
Decent set, meets expectations.
-
A useful gadget, worth keeping in your backpack just in case. It really did come in handy once. I recommend it!
-
Practical set. The tin will easily fit in a pocket and the fire starter works quite well.
