Helikon Classic Army Windblocker Fleece Jacket - Black

Very good compromise between wind protection and breathability. I was sceptical at first, but after a few days of use I am positively surprised – the fleece breathes well and effectively blocks the wind. The large chest pocket can fit even a full tang knife. The longer cut works well with a backpack. The downside is lack of mesh under the zips under the arms and slightly stiff finish.

I hunted for this fleece jacket for a long time. Finally, there was a promotion in my size (L – perfect for 185 cm, 97 kg). Worth every penny spent. As usual, Helikon sew perfectly. The fleece is very warm, which you feel immediately when you put it on. It has many pockets, all the zips work flawlessly. The hood can be stowed away, and additional vents increase functionality. This will be my main choice for autumn and winter.

Great fleece. After three years of wearing the Patriot, I decided to switch to this model and highly recommend it – it is excellently warm and provides good wind protection. At first, it is slightly stiff when worn directly over a t-shirt, but after a while it becomes very comfortable.

A fleece, or actually a jacket, thanks to the windstopper – a really cool thing. Well-fitted, size L fits me perfectly (176 cm, 120 cm chest, 98 kg). I put on three thin layers underneath and it's comfortable – it doesn't squeeze but is not too loose. You can move freely, and in temperatures close to zero outside, it is very warm. With intense exercise, it could be too much, but I haven't tested that personally. When it's not very windy or raining, it works great. I recommend it.

The only reservation one might have is the sizing, besides that the fleece works perfectly. I recommend buying it – it works great both as an additional layer under a jacket or as a light jacket on warmer days.

As others have mentioned, this fleece also needs breaking in because it's stiff at first and the sleeves are a bit too long. It insulates heat very well. The collar could be a bit wider. The downside is the underarm vents – without mesh they open too wide when unzipped. Overall though, at this price I have no major complaints.

The fleece looks very nice. It has a great cut and a beautiful red lining. I have several Helikon fleeces in size L; however, I had to exchange this one for XL as it was too small. The fleece has a windblocker membrane. I tested it against the Helikon Patriot model on a windy day. I was wearing only an undershirt and a thin fleece. By comparison, the Patriot was much warmer, softer, and more comfortable, while the Classic Army windblocker was stiff, and despite the membrane, I could feel the chill. It felt as if I was being wrapped in cold metal.

Great fleece. I have tested many Helikon fleeces, and this one is definitely the best. Throughout the whole winter, it replaced my thick jacket – I didn't feel cold even at low temperatures. On warmer days, you can open the side zips for better ventilation. Lots of spacious pockets with compartments. It protects very effectively against cold and wind. I recommend it!

Fleece made from very good quality materials and meets all expectations. The only downside is that although the company is Polish, production is in China. It's a pity that Polish companies don't do everything themselves – some of the money goes abroad. If I bought a Chinese fleece, I'd pay much less.

Fantastic fleece. For a person with a height of 173 cm and a weight of 75 kg, size S is ideal. For people with similar measurements who want to wear the fleece over a thicker sweatshirt, I recommend choosing size M. For a t-shirt or thin sweatshirt, S will be fine. It’s more suited as a thermal layer etc. Definitely worth considering.

Product matches the description and is worth its price. The fleece is warm, shields well from the wind. It's comfortable, practical, and the lining is an elegant colour. I am satisfied with the purchase and recommend it. 5 stars.

Excellent windblocker, high quality, but not the same as the classic army: lacks Velcro, like other MON models, and Helikon added a red lining! I intended to use it for work, but it will be more suitable for the mountains!

Very warm fleece, together with thermal underwear and a shirt it works even in severe frost. Many pockets, materials and workmanship at a high level. The windblocker really works, the wind doesn't get through. I had to exchange the size for a larger one because of the sleeve length (I had similar with a Helikon shirt – I probably have longer arms than the standard allows).

Definitely worth its price, especially if you can get it on promotion. It protects well against the wind, has functional ventilation holes and many pockets, and is carefully stitched. The membrane is slightly less breathable compared to the original windstopper, but a jacket with a better membrane costs two or even three times more. Overall, a great product.

I previously had a fleece from an older series, it was indestructible and protected very well against wind and light rain. Unfortunately, the current version is worse – the material pills quickly and after washing the back looks as if the layers have stuck together. The Velcro on the sleeves stopped working. I agree that the sizing is a bit smaller compared to other Helikon models.
