EDC (Everyday Carry) is the term for a group of items carried with you daily and outside the home. The purpose of EDC is to make it easier to perform daily activities and to create a way to deal with emergencies. The average EDC equipment is a collection of compact items such as a mobile phone, wallet, keys, and, in more extensive kits also: a torch, knife or pocket knife, and a fire starter. EDC can be expanded and completed according to one's tastes and needs. The listed items should be compact so that they can easily be carried in pockets, a pouch or a backpack.

An EDC torch should be characterised by its size so that carrying it is in no way cumbersome. The most versatile will be a classic handheld torch, but if you perform activities for which two free hands are needed, a small headlamp will be a good choice. There are also torch models on the market that can be used both as a handheld torch and a headlamp - for example, the Olight Perun torch.

When choosing an EDC torch, pay attention to the power of the torch, the available light modes and the type of power supply. A torch that will be used for daily illumination, such as in the cellar or when working on the car, does not need to have high power. In such situations, a model of about 200 lumens will suffice. For outdoor activities (in the mountains, in the woods, outside the city) it is good to choose a torch with a power of 1000 lumens or more. The number of available light modes is worth choosing in relation to the place and the way the torch is used. Most models are equipped with 2 or 3 modes. The choice of the type of power supply depends mainly on the time of use of the torch and the possibility of charging it. If you can regularly charge the torch, choose a rechargeable battery model. On the other hand, in a situation where you know you will not have the time to do so, it is worth choosing models with batteries.

MILITARY.EU store offers EDC torches from manufacturers such as Olight, XRG, Helikon, M-Tac and Maglite. On offer are torches both with a low power of 12 lumens and models with a light output of more than 2000 lumens. You can choose models with housing made of titanium, aluminium, copper, metal or rubber, for example. We encourage you to check out our range of EDC torches.
