CCE camouflage (Camouflage Centre Europe) is the standard camouflage pattern used by the French armed forces since 1991. It is characterized by irregular patches in three main colors: black, brown, and green, placed on a beige background, resembling natural forest environments. This pattern was mainly inspired by the forest surroundings of Fontainebleau, and its goal was to provide effective camouflage in the diverse terrains of Central Europe.
Outside of France, CCE is also used by the Austrian military. This pattern replaced the earlier TAP 47 camouflage uniforms and olive uniforms, offering better visual penetration in wooded areas.
