This backpack is perfect for me – it has the right size and a very comfortable carrying system. Even after two days of hiking with gear for two people, my back didn't hurt. The backpack offers many options for expanding the space through additional pockets and various types of inserts attached to MOLLE straps. It's a pity that at least one pocket doesn't use the VIS system, which often appears in Helikon products. I do not regret this purchase – hiking with this backpack is very comfortable, even though it’s not a classic mountain model.
Wisport Sparrow II 30 l Backpack - MAPA
Introducing the latest version of the highly-regarded Sparrow model! This compact 30-liter military and survival backpack is crafted from 500D Cordura in MAPA camouflage. Its design draws inspiration from the urban Raven model, enhanced for rigorous use in the field.
durable Cordura construction
The backpack is constructed from durable 500D Cordura, a highly abrasion-resistant and tough material, ensuring longevity even in challenging environments.
2 compartments, 5 pockets, hydration system
The Sparrow II model is equipped with two ample compartments. The primary compartment (27 l) features four D-rings on the back wall for accessory attachment. The secondary compartment hosts an extended organizer for arranging small items. Inside the main compartment, there are mesh pockets secured with zippers. The flap contains a flat pocket matching the main compartment's size and approximately 5 cm thick, adequate for documents, maps, or a small laptop. Additionally, there is a small exterior pocket on the flap for quick access.
Within the backpack, a hydration bladder hook, a tube exit hole, and two loops (one on each shoulder strap) are available for stable attachment.
main zipper, protective flaps
The primary and secondary compartments feature a two-way zipper that runs along three sides of the flap, allowing broad access to the interior. Each zipper is durable and resistant to abrasion, equipped with textile pulls for ease of use even when gloves are worn. The zippers for the compartments and front pocket are protected by cover flaps that prevent moisture and dirt from entering the interior.
carrying system, compression straps, transport handle
The SAS - Semi Adjustable System Ergonomic Military offers excellent structural strength, comfort for the wearer, and efficient back airflow. This system consists of long, quick-release shoulder straps with adjustable length, along with chest and waist straps. The interior side of the straps is crafted from dense, snag-resistant fabric. At the back is a tunnel compatible with a fiberglass frame (not included).
Both sides incorporate two compression straps with 30 mm fastex buckles. These enable reducing the volume and firmly securing equipment like clothing, tarps, sleeping pads, or camouflage nets. A large and wide transport handle is positioned on top for more convenient transport.
MOLLE / PALS
The MOLLE/PALS webbing is stitched onto the front, bottom, and sides, facilitating the attachment of additional gear or items for urgent need.
velcro panel
On the front of the backpack, there is a velcro panel designed for the attachment of patches, unit insignias, national flags, or morale patches.
MAPA camouflage
The MAPA camouflage pattern was created by Maciej Dojlitko, an alumnus and researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. He is also the author of the publication The Theory of Deconstruction of Visual Communication: Tools for Designing Military Camouflage (Gdańsk 2015). This pioneering design, backed by strong theoretical and experimental foundations, including computer analysis of thousands of terrain photos, caught the eye of experts and military apparel manufacturers. Debuting in 2017 at the International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce, the MAPA camouflage featured as the pattern for the Dromader gear and uniform system by Maskpol, a member of the Polish Armaments Group. The system was developed with the Territorial Defence Forces in mind; however, the MAPA camouflage was also evaluated as a potential successor to the wz.93 pattern for the entire Polish Armed Forces. Unfortunately, MAPA has yet to be officially adopted by the Polish Army.
Main features of the MAPA camouflage in its basic forest variant:
- 6 colors forming layers that resemble contour lines on a map,
- colors optimized for operations in Central European forests,
- use of three-dimensional illusion and anamorphic effects,
- biomorphic shapes mimicking vegetation,
- high-contrast elements imitating light glares and shadows,
- deformation of the camouflaged silhouette using macro patterns,
- color noise recreated through micro patterns.
The MAPA pattern presents an intriguing alternative to top modern camouflage designs such as PenCott, MultiCam, Kryptek, Flecktarn, or the Finnish M/05. In certain aspects, it is more advanced and better replicates the colors prevalent in Central European forests from late spring to early autumn.

This is already my second backpack of this type, because I like it very much. Its only flaw is the price, but everything else is just advantages. The backpack is very comfortable, it has perfectly contoured shoulder straps, and the 30-liter capacity is ideal. I use it both for work and for mountain trips. It has accompanied me on many journeys and still shows no signs of wear. I had the sand (coyote) version and the dark green (olive green) one, and I like the latter even more.

The backpack is solid, the color is interesting, though graphite can look slightly green under certain lighting. It has a molle system and straps for attaching items. Additional loops or buckles would be useful, as the straps sometimes hang loosely. At this price, it's worth buying such accessories and some extra reinforcement. Overall, I recommend it.

After all, it's Wisport and Cordura – nothing to complain about. The compression straps are very cleverly designed: after tightening them, the 30-liter backpack becomes compact. The back cushions look very durable, made from fabric, not mesh. This backpack will definitely last for many years.

For a long time, I was looking for the right backpack for a BOB, and finally decided on this model. I'm satisfied – the zippers are durable, and the hip and chest belts do their job well. I packed the backpack up to 17 kg, and a 15-kilometer march was not difficult. I recommend getting a frame for it!

The Wisport Sparrow II 30L is a lightweight yet very durable tactical backpack. It has plenty of space for your stuff and a functional pocket layout. The carrying system and adjustable shoulder straps make it comfortable to wear. It’s perfect for hikes, field trips, and everyday use.
-
The backpack is spacious and comfortable, the straps don't pinch and allow you to carry weight for a long time. Lots of pockets for small things. Works great for outings in the field and military training. Highly recommend.
-
A very well-thought-out and spacious backpack. I recommend buying the frame, although the backpack manages well with heavy loads even without it. An additional advantage is the fact that it's made in Poland. This backpack definitely deserves a rating higher than 5 stars—I would even give it a six.
-
A very well-thought-out and well-designed backpack. One big advantage is that its size allows it to be used as carry-on luggage on a plane. Comfortable, light, spacious, and durable, with perfectly arranged organizers inside. I recommend it!

This is probably Wisport's most versatile model :D 30 liters is more than enough for everyday needs. You can easily attach extra bags or hiking equipment to it.
-
I think it’s hard to be dissatisfied with this backpack. It’s excellently made, well thought out, crafted from high-quality materials, comfortable, and even available in the MAPA camouflage.
-
I bought the backpack four years ago (in October 2021) and even after daily use, there are still no major signs of wear. The durability and appearance are very satisfying. I think it was worth every penny.
-
In my opinion, it’s hard to be dissatisfied with purchasing this backpack. Crafted with great care, thoughtfully designed, made from high-quality materials, comfortable, and you can even get it in MAPA camouflage.
-
This is probably the best backpack I've had – it's great both in the city and on trips. High-quality materials, and the only downside is the price of the MultiCam version. Overall, a very successful model that I recommend to everyone.

It's nice to see a Polish company making such good products. The backpack is very comfortable and carefully sewn. Inside, you can also find straps to secure the contents. Excellent ergonomics.
