The cap in M05 Finnish Woodland Camo, based on a cut inspired by classic patrol caps, has been enhanced with features intended for tactical use. The design was developed for security operators, military personnel, uniformed service members, and users operating in the field.

The versatile construction also makes the cap suitable for everyday wear, walks, trips, outdoor activities, and work requiring effective protection from the sun. Velcro panels allow the look to be adjusted to match the nature of the tasks being performed.

The model is made from a material that is a combination of 2 fibers, each responsible for a different performance characteristic of the fabric:

• 50% cotton - increases wearing comfort, provides softness against the skin, and supports the breathability of the material. As a result, the cap performs well during extended use.
• 50% polyamide - increases the durability of the fabric and its resistance to abrasion, tearing, and intensive use. The polyamide fiber helps maintain the durability of the construction during field operations.

The fabric and the velcro elements of the cap were developed to reduce their visibility in near-infrared light. As a result, the material does not reflect infrared radiation as intensely as standard fabrics and velcro, which helps reduce the contrast of the cap during observation with night vision.

The model stands out with a classic 6-panel cut and a contoured visor. The crown panels are joined with durable stitching that helps maintain the proper shape of the cap during intensive use. The construction fits well on the head and provides protection from the sun.

The visor has a stiffened construction and is finished with multiple rows of stitching. This type of solution increases its stability and helps maintain its intended profile. At the back of the cap there is an adjustable strap with a buckle. It allows the circumference to be adjusted to the head and stabilizes the cap during movement, running, and work.

The model is equipped with 3 velcro panels:

• rear panel measuring 75 x 50 mm
• top panel measuring 30 x 20 mm

Velcro panels are used for attaching identification patches, flags, unit emblems, blood type markings, and other accessories equipped with velcro.

The upper part of the cap features 6 ventilation openings. They are positioned in the crown panels to improve air circulation inside the cap and make it easier to dissipate excess heat. The openings support ventilation during marching, field work, intense exertion, and use in higher temperatures.

M05 (Finnish: M05 Maastokuvio) is a family of pixelated camouflage patterns introduced into the Finnish Defence Forces in 2005 as the successor to the M91 pattern. It was developed on the basis of digital analysis of photographs of Finnish forests taken in different seasons by the Finnish Forest Research Institute. The M05 family includes several variants, including woodland, snow, and cold weather.

The main woodland version of M05 consists of patches in light green, dark green, brown, and dark graphite, effectively replicating the structure of Finnish forests. Thanks to similar vegetation and terrain conditions, M05 Woodland also performs well in the forests of Central and Eastern Europe, providing effective camouflage in natural surroundings.
