After many years of using the Spyderco sharpener, I finally got myself diamond rods. Now sharpening is even faster, easier, and more precise. I highly recommend them—the entire system will serve for many years. I've been using it for 15 years and there is no significant wear. Although they're expensive, over time they prove to be worth the purchase.
A pair of replacement rods designed for the Spyderco Triangle whetstone's sharpening stones. These diamond-coated rods are intended for blade restoration or altering its profile.
Diamond rods offer quicker and more precise sharpening compared to standard stone rods, reducing sharpening time and achieving a cleaner, more precise edge. Post sharpening, rinse the rods under running water.
The rods are encased in protective plastic tubes.

Spyderco is an American company based in Golden, Colorado, founded in 1976 by Sal and Gail Glesser. The brand's origins are linked to the invention of the “Portable Hand,” which gave rise to the company's name, and in 1978, the innovative Tri-Angle Sharpmaker® was introduced. The breakthrough came in 1981 with the launch of the C01 Worker knife - the world's first model with a carrying clip, the distinctive Spyderhole opening, and the serrated SpyderEdge blade. Spyderco was also a pioneer in the use of new materials, being the first to introduce CPM S60V powder steel and H-1 stainless steel, designed for use in marine environments. For years, the brand has been collaborating with renowned knifemakers, including Al Mar, Ernest Emerson, and Marcin Slysz, creating unique models that have gained iconic status. The stylized spider logo symbolizes both the company's origins and Spyderco's values: precision, innovation, and high performance.

Great extension to the Triangle sharpener. The diamond rods make it easy to sharpen even very hard steels. The diamond abrasive surface is solid and should last a long time. I recommend this product.

Everything is in perfect order.
-
Perfectly complements the set. I especially recommend it to users of knives made of high-quality steel (e.g., s30v, D2, and similar).

If you have a Spyderco Sharpmaker and knives made from advanced steel (starting from D2 and up), these rods are absolutely essential. Without them, sharpening very dull S30V steel is very time-consuming and difficult. I highly recommend them—the difference is 20 minutes instead of two hours on standard medium brown rods.

The rods are expensive, but really good. They handle sharpening knives made of harder steel types very well. You just need to be careful because they're quite brittle.
-
The price is high... but really worth it :) You can practically shave with ten-year-old kitchen knives.
-
The diamonds are of excellent quality. They work perfectly for renewing worn blades and shaping edges. They are worth having—they last for many years.
-
You need a little practice, but they sharpen excellently.

This was exactly what I was missing in the base set. It's worth spending those few extra bucks.

Simple and aesthetically pleasing diamond rods for the Triangle system. Anyone who has used them knows that sharpening knives without them is very difficult. If you don't have them yet, buy them and see for yourself that it's true. The shipment arrived well protected the day after ordering. I recommend it.
