The telescope is built with Maksutov optical system, the characteristics of which are excellent image sharpness and absence of chromatic aberration. It consists of a spherical meniscus corrector (Kron glass), a primary mirror and a secondary mirror located on the inner part of the meniscus.
The diameter of the tube is 140 mm, the focal length is 1500 mm, and the diameter of the eyepiece focuser is 1.25 inches. The maximum magnification is 191 x. The telescope's tube is mounted on an EQ3-2 parallactic mount equipped with precision micro-movements and aluminum legs. The EQ3-2 mount is compatible with telescopes with a Vixen-standard Dovetail mounting rail.
In order to use the telescope for ground observations, it is necessary to use a so-called straightening lens, which will reverse the image to the natural (straight) one.
