Lightweight and small gabbsp;astronomical telescope with diameter of 80mm and short focal length of 400mm. The juxtaposition of these two parameters results in a telescope of rather unusual proportions, short, with a very large focal length of F/5 yet lightweight, causing no problems when suspended on an AZ3 mount.
Optical System
The 804AZ3 telescope is a lens telescope, a refractor, equipped with a two-element lens (achromatic doublet). It is a telescope with quite unprecedented optical performance. Focal length of 400mm with a diameter of 80mm gives luminosity of f/5. Such a telescope allows you to obtain the full spectrum of magnifications using available 1.25" eyepieces.
Mounting
The telescope uses an AZ3 azimuthal mount. It is a fairly large yet lightweight design that allows the telescope to be rotated vertically and horizontally which is very convenient for landscape observations. The light weight of the mount makes it easy to carry the whole set. In both axes the mount has micro-movements allowing you to gently move the telescope's field of view.
This mount comes complete with telescope mounting clamps, after removing them and purchasing an optional 1/4" adapter it is possible to suspend an ordinary camera or a landscape telescope.
Eyepiece Extractor
The telescope is equipped with a standard 1.25" eyepiece extractor. It is a rack-and-pinion (so-called Rack&Pinion) extractor. This extractor is terminated by a mount with an angle cap mounting screw. A 45" prismatic angle cap in standard 1.25" is included. The telescope gives an earthly, non-reversed image. This focuser is compatible with the Sky-Watcher focuser drive.
