Magnifying glass, adapted to two map scales

The rotating bezel equipped with a rubber DryFlex grip offers a firm hold and ensures comfortable handling. It includes scales of 1:25000 and 1:50000 along with a declination correction scale. A built-in magnifying lens and a 50 mm ruler enhance the precision of map reading. The lanyard is designed with a special safety release feature that automatically disconnects under high tension, increasing user safety.

    This is a solid compass for working with a map. Silva, as usual, maintains a high standard. You can easily set an azimuth on the map with it and then follow it confidently while walking. The needle responds quickly, and the dial offers slight resistance, so it does not shift accidentally. Even with gloves on, it is comfortable to use. The only downside is the lack of full illumination for nighttime use — when moving without a flashlight, the three glowing points turn out to be of little help.

    After more than forty years of using my old "made in Sweden" SILVA compass, I decided to treat myself to this SILVA Ranger 3 map compass "made in China." The quality is still there: the SILVA brand is often copied but rarely matched. For me, this product offers a good compromise between price and features, considering I won't use it very frequently. The needle is precise, the dial turns smoothly, and the markings are easy to read. The delivery to France was very fast. Kudos to the Militaria team for their efficient organization!
