I can confirm that in terms of effectiveness and quality, this product is top shelf. If I had to buy again, I’d choose the 210mm model from this brand because it's more versatile, but the 170mm pocket version also works great, especially if you don't plan on cutting thick trunks.
Convenient folding saw by the Japanese brand Silky, crafted from high-carbon SK-4 steel. The saw's surface is chrome-plated, offering protection against rust and detrimental effects on the blade.
The blade measures 130 mm long, enabling effective and comfortable usage. SK-4 steel is noted for its high durability against cracking and chipping. A robust blade locking mechanism enhances safe usage and transport, allowing the blade to lock in one of two positions.
The handle features an ergonomic design and is constructed from durable, rubberized plastic, providing excellent anti-slip properties and eliminating vibrations during operation. A hole at the handle's end permits the attachment of a cord.
A clear plastic case is included.

Silky is a Japanese manufacturer of hand saws with a long tradition, dating back to 1919, when Katsuji Miyawaki founded the company in the city of Ono. For over a century, the brand has gained a reputation for reliability and precision, and its tools are distinguished by their exceptional quality. The saws are made of the highest quality steel and undergo impulse hardening technology, which, combined with a design intended for ‘pull’ cutting, ensures smooth operation and precise, clean cuts. In 1980, Silky patented its own saw setting process, which significantly increases the sharpness of the tools – this solution has been used in the 4-Retsume and Miraime2 models, among others. The Japanese manufacturer's solutions are used by professionals around the world: arborists, foresters, carpenters and bushcraft enthusiasts. It is worth mentioning that in 1985, the ‘Gomboy’ model was the first on the market to feature a rubber-coated handle, which contributed to it winning the prestigious Japanese Good Design Award. Thanks to the combination of traditional Japanese craftsmanship and modern technological solutions, Silky has been one of the leading manufacturers of hand saws for years.

The Silky Pocketboy is an excellent saw. I have no complaints about the quality, and the size turned out to be perfect for me. The saw is lightweight, which makes it great for forest trips and I always take it with me. Highly recommended!

Silky is associated with quality. I bought the saw on a promotion and it was definitely worth it. The solid construction is immediately noticeable when you pick it up. Despite its small size, it's great for preparing a bonfire or building a makeshift shelter. It easily fits in a backpack or larger hip bag, and the plastic case makes it easy to transport and store. I also have a Bahco Laplander, but in my opinion this saw is much better. I recommend it.

Great workmanship from Japan and a very handy size. The saw blade is exceptionally sharp and easily handles cutting various types of wood. An ideal tool for bushcraft and survival enthusiasts. The handle is covered with rubber, which is very comfortable, and the length of the blade is more than sufficient for trimming medium branches and smaller pieces of wood. The saw is packed in a plastic case, which can later be used as a cover to protect the tool from moisture and dirt.

Small, sharp, and convenient – you hardly feel it in your backpack, ideal for any trip. The quality and class of workmanship are immediately noticeable when you pick it up. It fully fulfills its function.

A small and handy saw, a great alternative to a multitool or pocketknife. It's perfect for gathering wood for a campfire. If someone can afford a bigger saw, they'll get better efficiency. Here we have a product that's perfect for people who want to save space in their backpack.

The saw cuts not only thin branches without any problem, but also handles wood up to about 15 cm in diameter well. Thanks to its folding design and plastic case, you can easily put it in your pants or jacket pocket. The blade is rather short, so cutting thicker pieces requires more effort. It's perfect for quick, emergency sawing of firewood.

Great saw for short trips to the forest. Fits perfectly in the pocket. Works very smoothly. Does an excellent job cutting wood. I definitely recommend it.
-
Great saw, the only downside is the very tightly fitted blade, which makes folding and unfolding it difficult (I also have the Outback model, and there are no such problems there). It cuts excellently, perfect as an EDC complement when a pocketknife is not enough.

The saw is very sharp and comfortable to use. Highly recommended.

What more can I say, silky is silky—it cuts amazingly. Top-level workmanship.

This is my favorite saw for trips to the forest, setting up camp or preparing a bonfire with it is pure pleasure.

Great saw, cuts perfectly, highly recommend.

Silky is a guarantee of high quality. This saw is the smallest in the series, but I had no problem cutting branches up to 8 cm in diameter. We rarely use it for cutting down trees.
