Savotta Multi-PurPose Foam Mat

A multi-purpose mat, designed for use with the Savotta Jaakari S backpack, where it acts as reinforcement for the carrying system, enhancing carrying comfort. When removed from the backpack, it serves as a seat, kneeling mat, or for laying out gear in the field, and can even be used as a mouse pad.

Due to its compact size and lightweight construction, this model easily fits into equipment and does not add excessive weight to the load.

1000D Cordura, elastic foam, rubber coating

The outer layer of the mat is made from durable 1000D Cordura material, ensuring resistance to abrasion and intensive use in the field. The core consists of elastic foam with closed cells (4 mm), providing effective insulation from the cold. The base is covered with a waterproof rubber coating, ensuring optimal grip.

Savotta is a Finnish family business from Karstula that has been designing and manufacturing backpacks, bags, tents and field equipment for the military, rescue services and people who value heading out into the wild since 1955. The brand's gear has been supplied to the Finnish Defence Forces without interruption since the 1960s, meeting the strict standards demanded of military equipment. Savotta builds its products with durability in mind, which is why it reaches for top-tier materials such as Cordura, with almost all of its raw materials (97%) coming from suppliers within the European Union. The brand also stands out for its own proprietary solutions: the Rapid Adjustment Slider quick-adjustment system, frames made of polyethylene plates, and laser-cut PALS/MOLLE attachments. Every design is created in Finland, and the entire manufacturing process remains within the borders of the European Union. As interest has grown, the brand has expanded production - since 2025 its products have been made in three countries: Finland, Estonia and Poland. Regardless of where a given item was made, it undergoes final quality control at the Finnish headquarters in Karstula.

    The mat is precisely made from high-quality materials and perfectly protects against cold from the ground. It is quite thin, so pine cones or small stones may be noticeable, but thanks to this, it is very lightweight. I definitely recommend this product and the store.

    Simply a magical mat. I often want to go outdoors; fishing, barbecues. I don't regret it at all. When fishing, I put it in the dirt, it hardly gets dirty at all, dries very quickly, and the insulation is excellent. I use it to fan the coals. Nothing happens to it, it keeps its shape. Some kind of magical material. Highly recommend, the mat is worth the money!

    So far, I only have the Jaakari L. But I recommend the mat even without the backpack. Personally, I use it as a pad for everything. It hasn't seen the outdoors and probably never will. For sitting, I have a bigger one from Savotta, which is, in my opinion, more practical – you flip it over with the dirty side. But this smaller one can definitely be used, too. I'm considering buying a second one.

    Purchased this for my Savotta Jaakari S so I don't get stabbed in the back by anything I might be carrying rather than to use it as a sit pad. For my purpose the pad fits perfectly into the Savotta Jaakari S and it doesn't add much weight either. As with all Savotta products the quality is extremely high and the price is reasonable.
