Bit of a Savotta fan boy here I own pretty much everything they have made and now I have started purchasing their older stuff. This pack fits their 4L side pouches really well and like with all their other products the quality is top notch. The only negative thing I would add is that I wish this pack was sold with the frame rather than this being a separate purchase, to me a pack of this size really needs the frame and I couldn't see myself using it without it. Looking forward to using this pack over the summer months for my camping trips and it's now my gear bag for my airsoft stuff.
Savotta Jaakari M Backpack 30 l - Brown
Backpack with a capacity of 30 liters in brown color, designed for everyday use, field trips, and as part of a larger gear set. Thanks to its slim construction, contoured shoulder straps, and padded hip belt, it will be useful during long marches with a heavier load.
Main compartment closed with a flap, mesh pockets
The main compartment is closed from the top with a collar with drawstrings. The flap contains a zippered pocket, suitable for storing documents, keys, or a phone. A side zipper on the backpack allows quick access to the interior without having to open the flap. Both sides feature 2 mesh pockets.
Velcro panel, divider for hydration system
On the front of the flap, there is a Velcro panel, allowing for the attachment of any patch or emblem, such as a national flag, unit insignia, or so-called Morale Patches. The inner back wall is equipped with a compartment for a hydration insert. Two side ports allow for routing tubing from either the left or right side, as well as threading wires or an antenna.
MOLLE/PALS straps, compression straps
The MOLLE/PALS system on the side panels, flap, and hip belt provides options for attaching additional pouches and accessories. Four bottom loops allow for securing a sleeping bag, tent, or other equipment. Side compression straps allow adjusting the pack's volume to its contents or attaching additional gear on the outside.
Durable 1000D Cordura
Backpack made from 1000D Cordura, providing high abrasion and tear resistance, and is covered inside with a polyurethane coating. Straps and trims made from durable polyester meet military standards.
Padded shoulder straps, hip belt
Padded S-shaped shoulder straps with a removable chest strap and a soft hip belt with additional lumbar support offer comfort under heavy loads. The belt is easy to adjust thanks to a forward tightening system and is equipped with a quick-release buckle.
stiffening insert, option to add a frame
Inside the divider by the back is a removable stiffening insert made of plastic for even weight distribution and reduction of point pressure on the back. This proprietary back stiffening system was created by Savotta, which, in the Jääkäri M model, allows replacing the factory insert with a compatible aluminum frame (available for separate purchase).

Cordura is a material woven from durable nylon fibers, developed by DuPont. The structure of the material provides lightness and abrasion resistance, as well as weather resistance. Due to its properties, Cordura is widely used in tactical equipment.
MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) is a system for attachment of tactical equipment, used for example in backpacks or tactical vests. It provides the possibility of flexible and modular placement of various accessories and pockets, which allows personalization and optimal adjustment of the item to the specific needs of the user. It is widely used by the military, special services and survival and outdoor enthusiasts.
PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) is a modular mounting system for pockets and pouches, used in the MOLLE system. It consists of horizontally sewn rows of 1 inch (25.4 mm) wide, fixed spacing webbing (such as on a backpack) and vertical webbing for attachment and threading (on a pocket). This system is usually equipped with snaps, which further secures the pinned items.

Top quality. Maybe the toughest build backpack. Only minus is lack of pockets and bit stiffy material. I have been using that couple years and it still looks like new.

Great product. One of the best in its category of backpacks. High quality of workmanship and materials used. The whole thing is thoughtfully designed, without unnecessary extras, and fully functional. The only downside is the high price, which, however, is completely adequate for the quality.
