The sharpening itself is fantastic, just a few minutes and you can shave. Unfortunately, I noticed two flaws — the first downside is that the stone's surface isn't perfectly smooth; there are noticeable irregularities and three grooves across the whetstone. The second flaw is the mounting to the base – at the very first installation the stone came off, and glue marks were left on the surfaces, very little glue was used. Luckily, I managed to catch the stone before it fell apart.

You can use it as part of a sharpening system, but it also works well as a standalone stone – I personally use it for finishing edges.

This is the stone I reach for most often when smoothing. When I have my dream knife, I plan to buy a 10000 grit with a larger surface area.

After some time the glue came off, but it's a minor issue – it was enough to simply re-glue it. The stone itself has a very smooth surface, so it's great for polishing blades.
