I own both these and the lower cut version of these boots and after owning them for around 4 months now and I tend to use them 2-3 times per week some times more if we have a lot of rain and I have not experienced any build quality issues with these boots. They are a pain to put on and take off but for a boot that offers good ankle support I think this will always be the case. I have gone on multiple back packing trips with my longest being a 32 mile walk over 2.5 days and I was carrying a 27kg pack. At the end of the trip my feet were absolutely fine. I got .5 size bigger than I normally would as I expect I won't need these so much in the summer so I got them for the winter months only really so wanted a little more room for thick socks.
Salomon Quest 4D GTX Forces 2 High EN Boots - Black
High tactical footwear in black, characterized by lightweight yet durable construction. Equipped with a breathable Gore-Tex membrane, they provide optimal protection against moisture. The use of 4D Advanced Chassis technology guarantees foot stability on uneven ground, minimizing fatigue during long walks. The footwear is ideal for both uniformed services and everyday use in the city and in the field.
Contagrip Sole, Protective Rubber Toe Cap
The durable Contagrip sole exhibits resistance to punctures, oily substances and provides protection against electrostatic discharge. In addition, the Protective Rubber Toe Cap protects the foot from impacts and minimizes the risk of tripping injuries.
The middle layer of the sole is made of Energycell+ foam which is distinguished by its high resilience. This allows for partial energy release from the impact of the foot on the ground, which improves the dynamics and strike efficiency. Comfort is enhanced by the breathable OrthoLite insole, which has antibacterial properties and provides additional cushioning and support for the natural structure of the foot.
Waterproof membrane, SensiFit leather
The boot's upper is made of abrasion-resistant and anti-reflective Cordura, which increases the durability of the footwear and provides better camouflage. Additional protection is provided by the SensiFit leather stabilizer, which wraps around the foot for increased support and fit. Waterproofing and optimal breathability is provided by the Gore-Tex membrane, which effectively protects against water from the outside, while allowing moisture to escape from inside the boot.
Quick lacing
The boot's lacing system integrates metal grommets for rapid and comfortable fastening. Additionally, it features the Quicklace system, enabling instantaneous tightening or loosening with a single pull. Extra laces can be conveniently tucked into a mesh pocket on the tongue. A loop at the back of the upper assists in easily slipping on the boots.

Ortholite is an insole with an advanced structure that provides effective moisture wicking and optimal air circulation. The flexible construction adapts to the foot's profile, and the antibacterial properties inhibit bacterial growth and odor formation.
Contagrip is a technology developed by Salomon, used in the construction of the outsole. It is based on the combination of a special rubber compound and tread profile, creating a flexible underside in order to achieve the most precise parameters for grip and stability on varied terrain. The sole comes in 5 versions, adapted to a specific type of surface.
SensiFit is a technology that uses a special upper design to provide the foot with better stability and protection. The side panel used, located from the midsole to the lacing system, allows the shoe to fit comfortably and precisely to the shape of the foot.
Quicklace is a quick lacing system patented by Salomon. It allows for simple and quick adjustment of the laces with a special clamp buckle, which allows the shoe to fit comfortably and be pulled on and off efficiently.
4D Advanced Chassis is an innovative technology used in the sole of the shoe, which is based on a special frame that works together with the midsole platform. It absorbs shocks from walking and, thanks to its flexible forefoot, transfers energy ergonomically, increasing the efficiency of each step. It supports the stability of the foot on uneven ground, and reduces leg fatigue during long hikes.
Energycell+ technology is an innovative way of constructing the midsole, based on the use of lightweight and flexible EVA foam with high energy rebound capability. Thanks to it, the energy that accumulates when the foot hits the ground is effectively used, providing better shock absorption and greater comfort.

The shoes are very comfortable and provide good stability for the foot, performing well both during duty and long hikes. Unfortunately, after about 9 months of use, the material at the heel wore out, which is a big disappointment given the quality and price.

Unfortunately, shoes costing about 300 PLN are more durable and comfortable than these. Putting them on and taking them off, as mentioned before, is truly a struggle. I do not recommend this model.

Salomon Quest 4D GTX Forces 2 High EN - Earth Brown shoes – despite the company's reputation and the high price, the quality of workmanship leaves much to be desired – they started to come apart at the seams after the very first use.

Tactical Salomon shoes for 1300 PLN are considered elite among combat footwear – so it's no surprise they are produced in modern factories in Cambodia, where shoemakers strive to deliver unforgettable experiences. Just putting them on requires effort and it's best to use Vaseline to fit your foot into this luxurious interior. While walking, you feel localized pressure on the ankle from the metal eyelets, which lasts for the first 100 km. Then, innovative 'heel ventilation' appears. After about 500 km, a hole forms in the rear part of the shoe, into which you can fit half a hand – this allows, for example, scratching your heel without removing the footwear. Other manufacturers don’t offer such futuristic solutions! Over time, I returned the shoes to the manufacturer, who sent me a new pair, also developing the aforementioned features. Quality-to-price ratio? Unique. Perfect for those who appreciate originality and are not afraid of novelties.

The shoes are not worth their price – after just three months the seams at the heel came apart and water started to seep in. I bought them to try, but quickly returned to my Lowa shoes.

The shoes make a good impression at first, and their features and solutions seem to be of a high standard, but after four months of occasional use, the plastic parts cracked and the sole came apart. Unfortunately, I am disappointed with these shoes, and my friends who bought them have similar or additional problems, such as loosening toes or squeaking. If someone is considering buying them, they should be aware of possible defects. I found information on Reddit that the production quality of this model has significantly deteriorated and this is noticeable during use.

In my opinion, these are the best work shoes for service. They are incredibly comfortable, very durable, and perform well in all conditions. I have been using their civilian version for over four years and have no complaints. What is also important to me is that they do not slip on wet surfaces (those familiar with the topic will know which other company I am referring to). I definitely recommend them.
