At first, I used a Petzel headlamp, but unfortunately its batteries leaked. Now I have a Princeton and I can compare—the current one is better in my opinion, fits better, and has a red light. I can recommend it to those who are undecided.
Princeton Tec Fred MultiCam headlamp - 200 lumens
Headlamp with a maximum power of 200 lumens. Designed for mobility and convenience in all conditions. Compact dimensions make it easy to transport and store, while its lightweight design reduces fatigue during prolonged wear.
Flexible band adapts to the shape of the head, ensuring stability even during dynamic movements. The entire construction is conducive to use both outdoors and during daily activities requiring free hands.
Solid construction with weather resistance
Housing made of durable composite effectively protects components from mechanical damage and external factors. IPX4 water resistance rating guarantees protection against splashes from any direction, allowing safe use in rain or humid environments.
4 LEDs, white and red light
System with 4 Ultrabright LED diodes ensures optimal balance between brightness and energy consumption. Three emitters produce a broad, even white light beam, well-illuminating the work area and surroundings. The fourth diode is responsible for the red light, useful in situations requiring discretion or maintaining night vision adaptation. This solution enhances usability and allows for adjusting the operating mode according to current needs.
White light:
- High - 200 lumens / 5.5 h / 21 m
- Low - 30 lumens / 41 h / 9 m
Red light:
- High - 12 lumens / 12 h / 5 m
- Low - 1.5 lumens / 130 h / 1 m
Adjustable tilt angle - precise light direction adjustment
The adjustment mechanism allows customizing the head position to current needs without changing body position. Large control button enables easy operation even with gloves on, which is particularly important in demanding conditions. Thoughtful access to the power chamber speeds up battery replacement and reduces downtime during work.
Compatibility with MOLLE/PALS system and adjustable band
The flashlight can be worn both on the head and on accouterment elements. Adjustable band allows precise fitting to the head circumference, providing stability and comfort even during intense movement. The material does not cause pressure and holds the flashlight in place for extended use.
Compatibility with MOLLE/PALS systems allows for mounting on backpacks, tactical vests, or belts, increasing versatility and easing equipment organization in the field.
Powered by 3x AAA or NiMH/NiCd batteries
The model is compatible with popular AAA batteries, included in the set, as well as suitable rechargeable batteries. Users can choose the energy source based on availability and planned usage time. Using rechargeable batteries helps reduce operational costs and increases independence during longer trips.

Multicam camouflage
MultiCam is a state-of-the-art camouflage pattern developed in 2002 by US company Crye Precision in cooperation with the United States Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs) as part of the Objective Force Warrior program. Its goal was to create a versatile camouflage pattern that is effective in varied terrain and changing environmental conditions. The MultiCam pattern consists of seven colors, creating gradient transitions between shades of green, brown and beige. As a result, it dynamically adapts to the background, adopting shades of green in forested areas or browns and beiges in desert regions - in Central and Eastern European environments, it works particularly well in autumn and among dry vegetation. MultiCam has gained worldwide recognition and is used by numerous armed forces and special units. In 2010, the camouflage was officially adopted by the US Army as the camouflage pattern for soldiers stationed in Afghanistan, replacing the earlier Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP). The pattern is also available to civilian users, making it a popular choice among military or airsoft enthusiasts.

MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) is a system for attachment of tactical equipment, used for example in backpacks or tactical vests. It provides the possibility of flexible and modular placement of various accessories and pockets, which allows personalization and optimal adjustment of the item to the specific needs of the user. It is widely used by the military, special services and survival and outdoor enthusiasts.
PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) is a modular mounting system for pockets and pouches, used in the MOLLE system. It consists of horizontally sewn rows of 1 inch (25.4 mm) wide, fixed spacing webbing (such as on a backpack) and vertical webbing for attachment and threading (on a pocket). This system is usually equipped with snaps, which further secures the pinned items.

Very good tactical flashlight, perfect for discreet use. It starts in red mode at the lowest power, and by holding the button longer you can switch to white mode, which works great. This is exactly the kind of equipment I needed. The build quality is flawless. I haven't checked the waterproofing yet. The price is high, but definitely worth it.

I have been using this headlamp for a long time and it has never let me down. The option to turn on the red light first is very useful, especially when you want to stay unnoticed.
