Dial immersed in liquid, phosphorescent markings
The immersion of the direction-indicating dial in liquid allows for compass use while running or marching. A fine wire front sight and a peep rear sight with a magnifying glass enable very precise bearings, and phosphorescent markings aid navigation in the dark.
