The exterior dimensions of the backpack can be tailored to the contents with the use of side compression straps—two on each side. By tightening these straps, you can decrease the backpack's volume, which is useful when the main compartments are empty, leaving only the outer pockets filled. This enhances stability during carrying. Additionally, the compression straps enable you to attach additional equipment like a jacket, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, or tarp.
