They are soft, warm and stretchy. I wouldn't describe these as typical winter clothes; I'd say they're more suitable for the transition between autumn and winter. You can barely feel you're wearing them. They're very comfortable for fieldwork, they keep your feet warm and stop them from sweating. They're really good value for money.
Pentagon Alpine Merino Heavy Socks - Cinder Grey
High socks in Cinder Grey crafted from warm fabric with 40% Merino wool, renowned for its thermoactive qualities. This wool efficiently wicks moisture while offering antibacterial properties. The interior is lined with terry cloth material, making these socks ideal for colder autumn and winter days.
materials used
Socks crafted from a material blend to ensure comfort, durability, and functionality. The composition includes the following:
- 40% Merino wool – a natural fiber with heat-regulating and antibacterial qualities, expertly managing moisture and maintaining foot temperature.
- 40% acrylic – a synthetic fiber contributing to lightness, softness, and durability while preserving the socks’ shape.
- 17% polyamide – fortifies the material, enhancing resistance to stretching and wear.
- 3% elastane – ensures elasticity and a secure fit, preventing the socks from sliding during activity.
Anatomic cut, flat seams, reinforcements
The Heavy model is characterized by an anatomic cut and elastic inserts in the central sole, providing an excellent fit to the foot. Flat seams help minimize the risk of chafing and irritation, making these socks perfect for extended hiking trips.
To enhance durability in areas more susceptible to wear, such as toes and heel, additional reinforcements made of thicker material have been integrated.

The socks are warm, comfortable, and great for cooler days. The material feels pleasant to the touch, they fit the foot well, and they do not slip down while walking. They also work well during longer walks and outdoor trips. I am satisfied with this purchase.

They’re excellent — I did 25 km in them in the mountains at temperatures around freezing. Even stops lasting about half an hour are not a problem for them, admittedly while wearing Lowa boots, but that’s still impressive. With my circulation problems, that’s a very good result, because in ordinary cotton or blended socks I used to feel cold in my toes after just 10 minutes of կանգնած still. So far, these are the best winter socks I have.

I haven't used them yet, but they seem fine at first impression. The sock is warm and fits the foot well. Having experience with PENTAGRAM products, I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

The socks are very durable and warm. They provide a high level of comfort. They effectively wick sweat away from the feet. During my last stay in the mountains, they worked great. I highly recommend them to everyone.

Although the price is high, the quality definitely makes up for it. While working outdoors, they provide great comfort – they keep your feet warm without causing sweating. Combined with good footwear, they perform excellently. Highly recommended, rating 5/5.

I recommend them for working in cold storage – even standing for longer periods doesn’t bother me, I can confirm from my own experience. I only take breaks after more than two hours, although it’s hard for me to stay still for that long. Warm work boots play a big role – we got them from the company. Unfortunately, accessories like gloves, neck warmers, or hats aren’t prioritized, since they’re easy to lose. As for the uncovered reach truck, after sitting for a long time, I feel cold in the left front part of my foot. I suggest wearing the right socks with a good material blend, as I can’t imagine using thin ones at all. I can’t comment on use outdoors or in emergency services, but for basic work or weekend recreation, they’ll probably do just as well.

These socks are not as thick as I thought they would be however they are comfortable up to a distance. Have completed a couple of hiking trails with these socks they kept feet warm and was comfortable up to around 10 mile. But, for the price of these socks I can't complain. Very well priced

The socks are comfortable and keep you fairly warm, although I wouldn't call them truly winter socks. They're quite long, reach up high, but they're rather thin, so they're more suited for the chilly beginnings of autumn than for winter.
-
Excellent socks – despite the name, it can be misleading because although it says heavy, they are not very thick. Merino wool works great on longer routes. In my opinion, they are even suitable for sleeping outdoors, though that is a personal preference.
-
Pentagon socks, even in the heavy version, are not as thick as typical winter socks, but they insulate heat well, feet don't sweat, they don't squeeze the calves, they hold up well and don't slip down. True professionalism.
-
These socks are a great choice for colder days. They are thick, warm, and very comfortable, yet breathe well so your feet don't overheat. Merino wool helps retain warmth even when wet, and the reinforcements make them extremely durable.
-
Warm and comfortable socks for winter. Thanks to the merino wool content, your feet do not sweat or create an unpleasant odor. Express shipping. Best regards!

The product is interesting, but in the photo it’s not visible that the socks are very long – in my case, they are almost knee-highs. It's worth keeping this in mind when purchasing.

Very good product from Pentagon, they are thick and very warm, perfect for winter days. With a good pair of shoes, the comfort is very high.
