I got this carabiner as a little thing — just to attach keys to my backpack. Honestly, I didn't even know it was a well-known brand. I thought it was just an ordinary metal carabiner for a couple of bucks. When I took it in hand, I was surprised. It's small, but very neatly made: nothing rattles, the spring is tight, and it opens crisply. At first, the slide-lock seemed unnecessary, but in practice, it's really useful — nothing will accidentally come undone. I carry keys, a flashlight, and small items on it — it holds up without any problems. Despite its size, the steel looks strong, and the carabiner itself is almost weightless. I use it daily: for my backpack, belt, sometimes in the car — it's convenient everywhere. It's nice that you can quickly detach it, but there's a lock to prevent accidental opening. I later found out that Nite Ize is quite a famous American EDC accessory manufacturer. Now I understand why this "little thing" feels higher quality than most no-name brands. ⚠️ The only thing — it's not a climbing carabiner and not for high loads. For home use and EDC — it's perfect. Pros: ✔ very compact and lightweight ✔ reliable lock ✔ quality steel ✔ convenient for keys and gear Cons: — small size (may not fit thick straps) — not for heavy loads 👉 Conclusion: bought it by accident — keeping it forever. Now I understand why these types of carabiners are recommended for EDC kits.

This is one of my favorites – I especially like it in black. It has never disappointed me and is perfect as an extension for a keychain. The lock is a big plus – it may get a bit looser over time, but it’s still good that it’s there.

I have a similar carabiner from this company in the same size but shaped like an S (two separate loops). I ordered this model because it has a larger closure and I was hoping for easier attaching and detaching of my keyring from the D-ring on my belt. The closure is indeed larger and easier to operate with a finger... unless the carabiner turns upside down, which unfortunately happens often and delays the detaching. For this use, I switched back to the S-shaped model :) The lock to prevent accidental opening is a great advantage. The carabiner is not painted, so nothing will peel. I recommend it.

The carabiner is solidly made, as you would expect from Nite Ize. The lock effectively prevents accidental opening, so even valuable things won't get lost in the field, even if you snag on something. Attached to both pants and the MOLLE system in a vest, it works great.
