I bought the Mil-Tec Survival NRC foil - Silver for my husband at the front back in 2023, to use under the Helikon Swagman Roll Basic poncho - Olive Green. Since then, it has been used many times in situations where there was no chance for an additional heat source. It doesn't take up space in a backpack or add weight, which is crucial for soldiers. I'm giving it 3 stars because I haven't tested it in the rain yet, so I don't know if it's waterproof, but I believe it'll be fine. The material is very thin and seems like it could tear easily. It makes a lot of rustling noise, which makes it harder to talk to someone walking next to you. The poncho is short—I’m 180 cm tall and it barely covers my buttocks, so if it rains, my underwear and legs will probably get wet.

It’s a thermal blanket in the form of a rain poncho. It's more practical than a regular thermal blanket because you can wear it and not worry about getting cold, restricted hands, or limited freedom of movement :).

Excellent product. Much more comfortable than ordinary thermal blankets. It’s a great replacement for a heavy poncho. I definitely recommend having it as part of your basic equipment.

A good alternative to a heavy poncho, it's worth having even if no rain is forecast—if it does rain, it will work without any problem.

Good product, much more practical than standard 'blankets', although they are also useful, especially when covering another person. I recommend it. It works great on every trip, as long as you don't need to hide. It's one of those things you really need to have as basic equipment.
