Mechanix Wear Original Core 3 Tactical Gloves - Olive Drab

Versatile durable gloves designed to provide basic mechanical protection. Their optimal fit ensures full grip control, allowing for precise tasks without limitations. Ideal for law enforcement officers, military personnel, shooting sports enthusiasts, as well as during survival expeditions, working in automotive workshops, DIY projects, and airsoft games.

Breathable CoolPlus material, touchscreen compatibility, Lock Ring technology

The top layer of the gloves is made from lightweight, breathable CoolPlus fabric that reduces perspiration and promotes air circulation. The construction made from a single piece of fabric minimizes the number of seams, resulting in greater durability. Additionally, the mesh material is tear and snag resistant. The inner part made of 0.8 mm synthetic leather ensures a firm grip and precise feel while allowing touchscreen use without removing the gloves. The wrapped Lock Ring panel reinforces the critical area around the thumb, enhancing glove durability, while reducing seams prone to damage.

Strong, adjustable TPR closure, Freedom-Flex cuff, 2-piece palm construction

The gloves are equipped with a robust closure made of TPR (Thermoplastic Rubber – thermoplastic rubber compliant with standard EN 13594), fastened with velcro. The two-piece interior palm construction and stitched Freedom-Flex cuff prevent material bunching and ensure an excellent fit and freedom of movement. Additional ventilated lining in the lower part of the palm improves airflow and provides injury protection.

norm: ANSI/ISEA 105-3XX and EN388-2121X

The gloves meet the American protective standard ANSI/ISEA 105 at level 3XX in terms of resistance to cutting, abrasion, and puncture, which means:

  • 3: abrasion resistance (on a scale from 1 to 6)
  • X: cut resistance (on a scale from A1 to A9)
  • X: puncture resistance (on a scale from 0 to 5)

The gloves meet the protective standard EN388 at level 2121X in terms of resistance to mechanical risks, which means:

  • 2: abrasion resistance (on a scale of 0–4)
  • 1: cut resistance (on a scale of 0–5)
  • 2: tear resistance (on a scale of 0–4)
  • 1: puncture resistance (on a scale of 0–4)
  • X: cut resistance – TDM test (ISO 13997) (on a scale of A–F)

In the ANSI/ISEA 105 standard, abrasion resistance is rated on a scale from 1 to 6 and refers to the number of cycles a material can withstand before wearing out. Cut resistance is classified on a scale from A1 to A9 (from the lowest to the highest level of protection). Puncture resistance is rated on a scale from 0 to 5 and indicates the force required to puncture the glove surface with a sharp probe (does not apply to needle puncture).

The scales specified in the EN388 standard define the level of glove protection: a value of 0 indicates no protection, while the highest values (4, 5) indicate the maximum level of resistance.

When testing using the TDM method (ISO 13997), letter markings are used, where A indicates the lowest level of protection and F the highest.

The X marking indicates that the given parameter was not tested or is not applicable.

CoolPlus feature
CoolPlus

It provides better ventilation and increases wearing comfort during intense exertion. This solution works well in environments with higher temperatures and humidity.

They are Mechanix, after all. As usual, unbeatable workmanship and stitching, very comfortable to wear, and a perfect fit if you choose the right size. Back in my service days, they were already my favorite.

Great gloves – they have already protected my fingers from mechanical injuries several times, so they perfectly fulfill their function. I will probably need to order another pair, they are really worth it.

The gloves are really very convenient and versatile. The range of tasks you can do with them is huge: from handling heavy stones, bricks, and unloading bags to gardening, working with cars, and various tools. Size L felt a bit stiff and tight at first, but after just a few days the leather fit my hand perfectly. The protection is excellent, sensitivity is decent—though it's a bit uncomfortable to twist very small nuts, you’ll have to really try to avoid dropping them. The main downside is the factory glue. After just 5 days of use, the black patch between the thumb and index finger already started to peel off, and there’s no stitching along the edges at all. And these are new gloves—they haven’t even been washed yet. I had to glue it back on myself so it wouldn't come completely off (the glove in the attached photo is already after my repair). When buying, I recommend carefully looking at the model photos: it’s better to choose the version where the black patch at the bend is NORMALLY SEWN with threads, not just glued on. Then you won’t have these problems. For this kind of money, glue issues are really unpleasant—the factory quality control is disappointing.

Very good gloves, they fit my hand perfectly, and the Velcro straps hold very firmly. After three months of frequent use, they still look like new.

These famous, durable gloves in Coyote color are made from synthetic leather, which allows for great trigger feel, and TrekDry technology effectively protects hands from overheating. Maximum protection and wearing comfort!

They wear out quickly. They are made from thin material, but I appreciate that they are suitable for precise manual tasks, even when using touch screens. Of the several models I have tested, the Original version seems to be the most versatile.

The gloves look great, well-made, nice leather and design, comfortable on the hand. Maybe the fingers are a bit long, but these are work gloves after all. Externally, a cool product, but time will tell how they perform in work.

During shooting practice you can adjust the optics and use the stopwatch on your phone at the same time. The gloves fit the hand perfectly and wick away sweat well. I definitely recommend them!

Excellent quality gloves which are true to size. I really like the PL woodland camo it seems to blend in well. I own multiple pairs of these gloves and I have never been disappointed with them and I use them for playing airsoft, DIY, and bushcraft stuff.

The gloves are of good quality, they fulfill their functions well and fit the hand nicely. The wrist closure feature is noteworthy. The only downside is the shade—the color is a bit darker than the original camouflage pattern.

This is probably the fourth time I have bought the same Mechanix gloves. They have never let me down. I definitely recommend them both for physical work and for using a touchscreen on cold days.

The gloves are exceptionally sturdy and comfortable, making them perfect for both outdoor use and everyday work. The Mechanix Wear Original model in wz.93 Pantera camouflage fits the hand excellently and offers high precision in use, allowing for efficient handling of equipment. One advantage of these gloves is the use of TrekDry breathable material, which reduces sweating of the hands, and the durable synthetic leather ensures a secure grip and product longevity. Additional reinforcements and the ability to operate touchscreens make these gloves a very practical choice both for daily use and tactical tasks.

Fit, comfort, and usefulness are excellent – I don't think there are better gloves in this class for the price. A clear recommendation from me.
