A lightweight military trucker cap featuring the MAPA B camouflage pattern, equipped with mesh panels for superior ventilation.
The MAPA camouflage pattern, created by Maciej Dojlitko—a graduate and researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design, Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, and author of works like Theory of Deconstruction of Visual Communication. Tools for designing military camouflage (Gdansk 2015)—boasts an innovative design backed by theoretical and experimental findings, including computer analysis of thousands of terrain photos. This caught the eye of experts and military gear producers. In 2017, the MAPA camouflage was showcased at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce as part of the Dromader system for armor and uniforms from Maskpol, a member of the Polish Armament Group. Designed for the Territorial Defense Army soldiers, the MAPA camouflage was considered as a potential replacement for the wz.93 camouflage across the entire Polish Armed Forces. However, it has yet to be officially adopted by the Polish Army.
The most important features of MAPA camouflage in the basic forest variant:
- 6 colors arranged in layers that evoke map level designs
- hues optimized for Central European forest operations
- utilization of three-dimensional illusion and anamorphosis
- biomorphic shapes that mimic vegetation patterns
- high-contrast elements mimicking light flashes and shadows
- macro pattern that distorts the silhouette being camouflaged
- micro pattern that simulates color noise
The MAPA pattern presents a compelling alternative to leading modern camouflages like PenCott, MultiCam, Kryptek, Flecktarn, or Finnish M/05. In certain aspects, it surpasses them and more accurately reflects the hues found in Central European forests from late spring to early autumn.
The fabric for the front panel and visor is made from a 50/50 blend of soft cotton and sturdy polyester. This material is lightweight, breathable, and comfortable to touch. It offers high resistance to abrasion and tearing due to its Rip-Stop weave. A velcro panel is sewn on the front to enable the attachment of identification patches, emblems, and Morale Patches.
The baseball cap delivers outstanding sun protection, ideal for any outdoor adventures. The adjustable buckle at the back ensures a perfect fit for the wearer.
