The jacket is very comfortable, it actually feels like a sweatshirt. For warmer days it may be too thick, so a light windstopper will come in handy. Maskpol should improve the sizing, especially the sleeve length, which is too short.
The modern tactical jacket is crafted from Softshell fabric with uniform material inserts in MAPA camouflage. The SM-01 jacket is perfect for survival activities, hiking, ASG, and leisure outdoor pursuits. While it's aimed at the civilian market, it is also valued by professionals in uniformed services. Thanks to its multilayer construction, the jacket not only efficiently protects against wind and rain but also eliminates the need for additional insulating layers.
The softshell comprises a triple-layer polyester laminate:
- outer knit fabric that is weather-resistant and impregnated,
- middle PTFE Teflon membrane,
- inner warming layer made from fleece fabric.
Elbows, shoulders, and the welt tunnel are reinforced with US-23 uniform fabric—a robust 50/50 blend of soft cotton and polyester. The Rip-Stop weave ensures the fabric is durable and resistant to abrasion and tears.
The entire jacket is secured with a durable single-direction zipper, and the closure features a high collar with chin protection. For enhanced thermal comfort, there are air vents beneath the armpits.
The cuffs are finished with elastic piping, while the bottom hem includes an elastic drawstring with a stopper, allowing width adjustment to fit the wearer and prevent underhanging.
The jacket comes with 3 practical pockets: two spacious side pockets and a smaller chest pocket, all zippered. Inside, the pockets are lined with breathable mesh.
On the sleeves, there are 2 large velcro panels (Velcro) for attaching emblems like distinction, national flag, unit emblem, or Morale Patches. The right chest has a button for a name tag.
The MAPA camouflage pattern was designed by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and current researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. He is the author of Theory of Deconstruction of Visual Communication. Tools of military camouflage design (Gdansk 2015). The innovative design, backed by substantial theoretical and experimental evidence, including computer analyses of thousands of terrain photos, captured the attention of experts and military apparel producers. In 2017, MAPA camouflage debuted at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce as a pattern for the Dromader system from Maskpol of the Polish Armament Group. Designed for Territorial Defense Army soldiers, it has also been considered for the entire Polish Armed Forces as a potential replacement for the wz.93 pattern. Unfortunately, it hasn't been adopted as the official Polish Army camouflage yet.
Most important features of MAPA camouflage in basic forest variant:
- 6 colors forming layers similar to map levels,
- colors optimized for operations in Central European forests,
- uses the illusion of three-dimensionality and anamorphosis effect,
- uses the illusion of three-dimensionality and anamorphosis effect,
- biomorphic shapes providing a vegetation-like pattern,
- contrasting elements imitating light flashes and shadows,
- macro pattern deforming the masked silhouette,
- micro pattern reproducing color noise.
The MAPA pattern offers an intriguing alternative to top contemporary patterns such as PenCott, MultiCam, Kryptek, Flecktarn, or Finnish M/05. In some ways, it's more advanced, better replicating Central European forest colors from late spring to early autumn.

The jacket is perfect for autumn's cool winds. Since it is windproof, it's warm. In winter, it's enough to add a fleece and it's still comfortable. It's great that you can get it in MAPA camouflage :)

The softshell jacket is very well made. I've been using it for some time now and I'm very satisfied. The jacket provides a lot of warmth. The MAPA camouflage looks much better in real life than in photos. I highly recommend it.

Overall, the jacket, or rather sweatshirt, is very well made. The material is good and the camouflage is attractive. The sweatshirt is quite thin, so on colder days it’s worth putting an extra warm fleece underneath. I deducted one star for the small number of pockets—for me, it would be useful to have some on the shoulders and at least one on the forearm. I think this would also improve its appearance.

Great jacket, works perfectly in autumn and winter. Effectively protects against wind. The only downside is the difficulty with choosing the size, as the sizes run slightly small.
-
This is more of a sweatshirt than a jacket, but the workmanship is perfect. I ordered a size smaller than I usually wear and it fits perfectly. If the price were lower, I would buy two — a smaller one as a sweatshirt and a larger one as a jacket, so that I could put something thicker underneath, but unfortunately I can't afford two such purchases.

It works great for winter together with a sweatshirt and a thermal shirt. It's just a pity that the jacket isn't fully covered in camouflage.

The camouflage looks good, the jacket is warm, but I would rather describe it as a fleece. I recommend size XS, it fits a person who is 158 cm tall.

It's hard to call this a jacket or softshell—it looks more like a fleece. Size S is a bit too wide, but the sleeves are fine. It's comfortable and good to run in, so I can recommend it.
-
Great jacket—warm, breathable, with ventilation openings under the arms. It has a nice color and camouflage and the size is well matched. There are hook-and-loop panels on the shoulders for patches. I definitely recommend it.

I always had concerns when ordering Maskpol clothing that I wouldn't get the size right. When analyzing the size charts, you get the impression that the clothes are too tight... and here's where I'd like to reassure future customers. Example: I took a jacket in size M. The chart lists 100 cm under the arms, but in reality it's about 112 cm, so there's some extra room. For a chest circumference of 100 cm, the jacket is comfortable.
