The hat is more sporty than traditional, which makes it dry faster and easier—for me, that’s a big advantage. If you’re looking for a typical winter cotton hat, better consider a different model.
Lightweight cap in MAPA B camouflage. It was made of durable and flexible material that is a combination of polyester and elastane, so it adapts very well to the shape and circumference of the head.
The materials used show quick-drying properties. In addition, they are responsible for the efficient wicking of moisture to the outside, guaranteeing thermoregulation and breathability. Flat seams increase comfort during use.
The MAPA camouflage pattern was designed by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and currently a researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, author of, among others, Theory of Deconstruction of Visual Communication. Tools for designing military camouflage (Gdańsk 2015) publication. The innovative design, supported by convincing theoretical and experimental arguments, including computer analysis of thousands of photographs of the terrain, attracted the attention of specialists and military clothing manufacturers. In 2017, the MAPA camouflage made its debut at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce as a camouflage pattern for the Dromader system of armor and uniforms from Maskpol, which is part of the Polish Armaments Group. The system was created for soldiers of the Territorial Defense Army, but the MAPA camouflage itself was also considered as a perspective pattern for the entire Polish Armed Forces, where it could replace camouflage wz.93. Unfortunately, the MAPA camouflage has not been implemented as an official camouflage pattern of the Polish Army to this day.
Main features of the MAPA camouflage in the basic forest variant:
- 6 colors forming layers resembling levels on a map,
- colors optimized for operations in the forests of Central Europe,
- use of the illusion of three-dimensionality and anamorphosis effect,
- biomorphic shapes making the design similar to vegetation,
- strongly contrasting elements imitating flashes of light and shadows,
- deformation of the masked silhouette using macro pattern,
- color noise reproduced by means of a micro pattern.
The MAPA pattern is an interesting alternative to the best contemporary camouflage patterns such as PenCott, MultiCam, Kryptek, Flecktarn or Finnish M/05. In some respects, it is more advanced than them, and better reproduces the colors found in Central European forests in the period from later spring to early fall.

The hat is very well made. I've been using it for some time and I am really satisfied with my choice. It is very warm, and the camouflage pattern actually looks even better in person than in the photos. I definitely recommend it.
-
The cut of this hat is not successful and it does not protect against the cold. It resembles a balaclava, but does not cover the face, and due to the two layers of poorly shaping material, it is uncomfortable to put on. A better solution would be to make it from fleece, then it would be warmer and more comfortable.

The cap is very well made. It is light, fits the head well, and works during mild frosts. Additionally, it muffles my mother-in-law's voice, which for me is its biggest advantage.

This is a very nice, lightweight hat with an impressive MAPA camouflage. It might be a bit difficult to put on for the first time because of the double layer of slippery material, but after that it’s no problem. The hat is perfect for windless, transitional days when the temperature is around 10°C. It’s light, takes up little space, and you can easily fit it even into a flat pocket.

This purchase was a complete mistake. The hat has an unusual cut, it looks like two ends of an elastic neck warmer or scarf sewn together. The material is very tight and thin, so the hat does not keep you as warm as the manufacturer suggests. The only thing I like is the MAPA pattern, which I like, that's why I was tempted, but I don't recommend it to others. As for the size: it is stretchy, but will work better for larger heads, because on mine (58 cm) it's a bit too loose and too deep. Slightly folding it up like a docker cap helps a little, but then it slips off the head even more easily because of the slick material and the oversized fit.
