Lowa MK2 GTX Combat Boot - Dark Brown

High tactical boots in brown shade, made of durable grain leather. The upper with increased height is equipped with the certified Lowa AS protection system with Poron technology, which reduces shock and protects the ankle joint and ankle from injury. The model is suitable for both uniformed services and as versatile urban and off-road footwear.

Rayflex pigmented leather, Gore-Tex membrane, Kinetic C insole

The outer layer of leather is equipped with Rayflex pigment that reflects the sun's rays, which significantly reduces the heating of the inside of the shoe. The breathable and waterproof Gore-Tex membrane effectively wicks moisture to the outside, while blocking water from entering the environment. The Kinetic C insole ensures dryness and comfort during use.

Vibram Vanguard sole, Slip Resistance technology

Stability on varying terrain is ensured by the Vibram Vanguard rubber sole with a cushioning layer. Specially designed tread guarantees very good grip on various surfaces. The footwear is enriched with Slip Resistance technology, which minimizes the risk of slipping on wet and unstable surfaces. Additional reinforcement on the toe and heel in the form of an extra layer of material and an overlapped part of the sole increases protection against mechanical damage.

two-zone lacing system, loop at the back of the upper

Adjusting the shoe to individual needs is made possible by the two-zone lacing system, which allows you to separately adjust the tension in the forefoot and at the height of the upper. This allows the shoe to be properly adjusted during ascent and descent. Low-profile metal grommets improve quick lacing, and a loop on the back of the upper makes it easy to take the shoes on and off.

I've been using these boots for 7–8 months – they're comfortable and waterproof, but they wear out from the inside fairly quickly: the brown layer has rubbed off and I worry that soon they might start to leak (although I haven't noticed this so far). I received them with a torn rubber strap holder on the boot leg, but I considered it a minor issue. The rubber toe guard started to peel after 2 months, but so far it's only slightly torn. On the plus side: comfort, durability of waterproofing, no problems on long hikes in heat (33°C) and cold (0°C) – depending on the socks. Even after long mountain marches I didn't have blisters or chafing, and the sole grips well on wet trails. On ice – as with other boots, it's easy to slip. Overall, I recommend them, but with intensive use after a few months, they already look very worn – for that I give them 4 stars.

I bought the Lowa Combat Boot MK2 GTX one and a half years ago and, with almost daily use in the field, they perform excellently. After a few months, I bought a second pair and wear them alternately so they dry better. These are some of the best boots for rainy and cold weather (fall-winter-spring), but they also work in summer if it’s not too hot. Based on my military service, I know that boots for cold and wet should meet specific requirements – these do: smooth leather for increased waterproofing and easy cleaning; breathable Gore-Tex membrane keeps feet dry; 8-inch height prevents debris from getting inside; metal eyelets are more durable; toe guard; good traction; comfortable, soft sole; minimal seams. I recommend getting half a size or a full size bigger for winter so you can wear thicker merino wool socks. Personally, I prefer boots without insulation because they dry much faster – you can just change your socks. Insulated ones dry more slowly and can absorb odor. Overall, very sturdy and comfortable boots for tough conditions.

Boots tested in the field: in forests, mud, snow, and bogs—they are lightweight, comfortable, and waterproof. I don’t get cold in them in winter, especially with thick socks. They look good and are not too difficult to clean.

The boots were tested in the field – in the forest, mud, snow, and swamps. They are lightweight, very comfortable, and most importantly – waterproof. In winter, with the right socks, I did not feel cold. They look good and are fairly easy to clean.

I bought the Lowa Combat Boot MK2 GTX a year and a half ago and since then they have worked perfectly during intensive outdoor use. After a few months I bought another pair to rotate them—this allows both to dry more efficiently. These are some of the best boots for bad weather—ideal for autumn, winter, and spring, and they’re fine for cool summer days too. During service, I noticed boots for cold and wet conditions need certain features—and these have them: smooth leather that doesn’t soak up water and is easy to clean; a waterproof, breathable membrane; high upper (8 inches) that keeps debris out; metal lacing loops that are more durable than plastic and enable quick lacing; toe protection; anti-slip sole; comfortable fit; and few seams. Additionally, for winter, I recommend getting boots half or a full size larger to accommodate thicker socks. I personally prefer uninsulated models, as these dry faster—both the boots and the socks—which is invaluable in the field.

Excellent, very stiff boots—I’m very satisfied with them. They worked great during a mountain trip, but I recommend breaking them in a bit first.

Durable footwear made from high-quality leather. I’ve had them for about a year and nothing has happened to them. My feet don’t sweat even on hot days. They are rather stiff. The lacing system works brilliantly. The sole is quite hard; it’s worth buying soft insoles, as the factory ones are hard.

Great boots; I use them in WOT instead of the standard MON issue, because they don’t soak through and are much more comfortable (although new MON boots can also be pretty good, but it really depends on your foot shape). Overall, they’re quite an expense, but definitely worth it—I recommend them.

After 7 months of use I have to say these boots are outstanding. Whether it’s -12°C or +10°C, it makes no difference to them. I’ve tested them in mountains, forests, and even in water—they work great. The leather is highly abrasion-resistant, and the laces are extremely durable—even after getting wet and dirty, they still look almost new. After 28 hours of wear, my feet were in perfect condition. A 15 km mountain hike is no problem; they’re also ideal for winter and spring camping. I wholeheartedly recommend them to all outdoor enthusiasts.

The shoes are very comfortable, although they seem heavier than they actually are. The sole performs excellently. I recommend not going on long trips right away without first breaking the shoes in. I have wide feet and during my first hour-and-a-half walk I felt like my feet were falling off, but after breaking them in, they're very comfortable. Just be sure to lace up carefully.

The first pair was very poor, I rate it as 3-4 quality category. The shoes are generally comfortable, but require proper adjustment and lacing to individual needs. I don't know how they will hold up after longer use. The Zephir LoWa model wore out quickly, even though I didn’t use them in tough conditions. My trust in the Lowa company is declining, and the store could better control the quality of products sent out. If these boots don’t work out, I won’t give Lowa a third chance.

I expected these to be heavy and clunky boots, similar in appearance to old government-issued boots. However, the comfort of these combat boots pleasantly surprised me. They are quick and easy to clean. On cold days, combined with good merino socks, they work fantastically.

I’ve had the Lowa Combat Boot MK2 GTX for about a year and they’ve performed excellently during intensive use in the field. After a few months, I bought another pair for rotation—I switch them daily so they can dry better. I consider them among the best boots for rainy and cool days (fall-winter-spring), and also for moderate summers. From my experience in the Army, I know boots for wet and cold weather should meet certain criteria—and these boots do: smooth leather fares better in moisture (easier to clean, doesn’t soak up water like nubuck or suede); the Gore-Tex membrane protects well against water and breathes; the 8-inch high upper effectively keeps out mud and snow; metal eyelets are more durable than fabric ones and don’t rip; reinforced toe increases safety; the sole does not slip, even on snow and wet stones; the soft and comfortable sole provides great comfort; few stitches minimize the risk of damage. I recommend choosing a size up for winter so you can wear thicker socks. Personally, I prefer boots without insulation because they dry faster and don’t pick up odors. In winter, you can get winter insoles for extra warmth.

These are the best boots I’ve ever had—after the first pair, I immediately ordered a second. I rate the workmanship, comfort, and durability very highly. Even a kick to a car window didn’t leave a scratch on the rubber or leather!
