Modern tactical shorts, known as UTS (Urban Tactical Shorts), are crafted from premium PoliCotton RipStop fabric (60% cotton, 37% polyester, 3% elastane), ensuring outstanding durability against abrasion and tears. They are more lightweight than fabrics made of 100% cotton and dry significantly faster. The strategically designed pockets make these shorts perfect for both city use and outdoor adventures.

A perfect combination of military and civilian clothing features — a subdued cut and the functionality of cargo pants. Innovative construction, carefully positioned seams, and the fabric used ensure outstanding freedom of movement and high durability.

10 spacious pockets

The shorts feature ten functional pockets:

  • two traditional hip pockets with reinforced edges
  • four thigh pockets (two broad ones with zippers and two narrow ones secured with Velcro)
  • four rear pockets (two large and two smaller ones inside the larger ones)

Easy fit of the pants to the figure

A broad Velcro strap adjustable by 6 cm replaces the traditional button. The waistband is also equipped with an elastic tape for enhanced fit. Additional loops on the lower section of the front belt loops are ideal for attaching items like a carabiner.

    After many clothing purchases from Helikon, I decided to go for the shorts. I have both length variants: 8.5" and 11". Personally, I prefer the longer version because they end just below the knee. The material is light and breathable, making the shorts comfortable and almost unnoticeable. At the same time, the fabric is durable and the workmanship is meticulous, which ensures their longevity. The shorts have my favorite pocket layout, which I know from other models like the Hybrid Outback DuraCanvas. Additionally, the shorts are available in a wide range of colors, which is rare in other Helikon products. What more could you want? I highly recommend giving them a try!

    These are quite interesting shorts, and they performed well during hot weather. They have plenty of pockets, so they can be used quite practically, although I missed having additional small pockets near the main ones, like on some other Helikon trousers. As for the downsides: - the sizing is quite unusual — XXL is very snug at the waist and hips, whereas the SFU/Next model in size XL fits me noticeably looser. - a higher rise or some kind of back yoke would be useful, because when bending over they become somewhat uncomfortable and expose the back too much.

    Great shorts (I have the 11" version), very comfortable, breathable, and sturdy. The Husar Range Belt 2.0 inner belt fits without any problem, so you can wear them at the shooting range :-D The shorts go slightly below the knee and have asymmetrical legs that provide extra knee protection. I definitely recommend them! A small suggestion – it's worth ordering a size smaller than what the size chart suggests.
