Crafted from premium fleece, the hooded sweatshirt ensures excellent thermal insulation even at extremely low temperatures, while skillfully wicking away excess heat and moisture. Incorporating a dual-layer Hybrid Fleece material with varying properties, it offers superb thermal protection while maintaining a lightweight design.
340 g/m2 grammage, reinforced sleeves
The outer layer is made of thick fleece with a grammage of 340 g/m2, while the inner layer is made of Grid Fleece with a mesh structure, which increases comfort and improves breathability. For optimal temperature regulation, zippered ventilation openings have been added under the arms. The cuffs are equipped with elastic drawstrings that adjust to the wrists.
Zipper, extended cut
The sweatshirt is equipped with a two-way zipper. The back is slightly extended, which effectively protects the lower back from the cool wind. The design allows easy access to pockets and equipment worn on the waistband. The hood is spacious enough to fit over a hat, and the soft visor prevents water from running down your face. The hood is sewn to the collar in a way that protects the neck from the wind, even when not worn. The shoulder pockets feature soft Velcro panels for attaching patches or emblems. Laser-cut panels with grommets allow you to wear additional accessories such as tactical pens or small flashlights.

I had some doubts about buying this fleece – at first I considered the PRO version, which seemed better suited for UHS, but ultimately decided on this model. The fleece is fairly loose, so if you plan to wear it under a jacket, it's better to choose a smaller size of the fleece or a larger jacket than usual. It insulates heat very well, but in stronger wind, it's worth putting a Softshell over it. I am very satisfied with the product.

I really like this fleece I was originally going to get the mk1 but I wasn't so keen on the hood on that version and I much prefer the smaller hood on the mk2. At 188cm and 105kg the 3XL fits me well. If you're backpacking wearing this fleece is a good option as it is very breathable and there are zippers under the armpits for even more air flow. On cold days when I am doing a less intense activity such as walking the dog I pair this with a water proof jacket which is a very warm set up.

This is already my second MK2. It works great in cooler, but not very cold days, is very practical and has spacious pockets. It's not as warm as the first version of the Patriot, but it's warm enough. It would be nice if Helikon released a version without a hood.

The fleece is comfortable and has practically arranged pockets. The downside is the zipper, which can be difficult to fasten – this problem also occurs with a friend who has a smaller size. I have another fleece from the same brand, with a zipper that fastens from the bottom, and in that model this problem doesn't occur.

This is a fleece sweatshirt, a revelation for me. The cut fits well, it has an extended back, long sleeves, a high collar, and very pleasant material. At my height of 174 cm and 83 kg, size M is great - it fits well and is not too tight. I also have the Patriot in the classic version - it's more of a fleece jacket than just a sweatshirt. It's almost indestructible, except for the Velcro, but it has short sleeves and a very wide cut, which I don't quite like. It's more suitable as an outer layer for intensive use. However, the MK2 is a light, ordinary fleece sweatshirt. These are two completely different products, not just different versions of the same one.

Polar works great both during various outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, or working outside, as well as for everyday use. It's worth waiting for a promotion, as you can find a good deal. I have no complaints.

I used the MK1 for three years, then I bought the MK2 and unfortunately after two months of use, the drawstring on the hood broke. Additionally, the main zipper is difficult to use. The pockets are made of mesh rather than solid material like in the MK1, and the price is higher despite the reduced quality.
