This is my second pair of pants in this model — previously I had mud brown, and now I have crimson sky/black. In my opinion, the OTP is one of Helikon’s two best models for outdoor use, alongside the Hybrid Tactical. The pocket layout and number of pockets are excellent, which also works well in the UTP and shorts. The material is very flexible while still being durable, and the cut is well thought out. Another big plus is the hook-and-loop adjustment at the waist instead of a button — it doesn’t press under a belt and lets you adjust the pants to your build more precisely. My only impression is that the red-and-black version has narrower legs than the mud brown one, although it’s possible that the new pants simply haven’t stretched out yet. These pants are great for the transitional seasons, because in higher temperatures they turn out to be too warm. The only thing worth improving: getting any Helikon pants in size S Short is next to impossible. Another plus is the very fast shipping, exactly as stated on the website — the package reached the parcel locker the very next day. --- PS

The Helikon-Tex OTP VersaStretch trousers are very comfortable, and you can feel that almost immediately after wearing them for the first time. The material stretches, so it’s easy to walk, sit, bend down, or spend a long time on the move in them. There’s no feeling that the trousers are tight anywhere or restrict movement. The fit turned out well: they look neat, don’t hang loosely, but aren’t too tight either. The pockets, as always with Helikon-Tex, are very well thought out. A phone, keys, documents, and other small items can be arranged properly, and they don’t get in the way while walking. The Shadow Grey colour is subdued and versatile, well suited both for the city and for trips outdoors. After several uses, the trousers keep their shape, the seams look neat, and the fabric doesn’t stretch out at the knees. In very hot weather they may feel a little too heavy, but for spring, autumn, and cooler days, this is a very comfortable option. I’m happy with the purchase because the trousers are genuinely comfortable for everyday wear.

These are very comfortable and practical pants. The flexible material means they move well with the body and do not restrict movement while walking, bending down, or working outdoors. The spacious, sensibly placed pockets deserve special praise, as they keep the most necessary items always within easy reach. The hook-and-loop waist adjustment allows for an excellent fit to the body. The fabric is lightweight, durable, and works well for trekking, forest walks, and everyday wear alike. I’m writing this review after testing the trousers in tougher conditions—they got seriously snagged several times on a protruding, sharp branch while moving through fallen trunks, and there is no visible damage on them. For such lightweight trousers, they are genuinely very durable. There’s also no point in once again stressing their flexibility and the fact that they do not restrict movement at all—they’re simply excellent. After the first trip out into the field, it’s hard to switch back to anything else. The pencott wildwood pattern makes a great impression.

Perfect trousers for my use. I intended to use these for hillwalking in slightly cooler days. They are stretchy and fit well. I'm 6ft and medium build. I got the M long. The material is great, 4 way stretch and windproof and water resistant. The velcro fastening is actually really good as it comfortable and allows for a little adjustment. Belt loops are great of needed and plenty pockets which are mesh lined for ventilation. It doesn't have leg vents or leg adjusters at the bottom of the legs but there are small holes to add these which I might do. The quality and construction is amazing especially at that price. I got the red as I like bright colours for hillwalking but these have many uses. I work outside and these would also be perfect for that. I'm considering buying the lite version as well for hot days. Highly recommended them.

They are fantastic. Very lightweight and flexible, which makes them great for hiking. I tested them during the recent heatwave. They are not excessively noisy, and I have sensitive hearing. There is hardly any need to elaborate on the brilliantly designed pockets.

Great trousers for three-season trekking and mountaineering. I wasn't familiar with the full Helikon-Tex range, but after watching some YouTube reviews, I decided to order a pair of these VesaStretch trousers as an alternative to products from more popular brands. I bought the red and black version —a color scheme I usually wear for outdoor activities— which happened to be on sale. After receiving and testing them, I feel they hold their own against products from Fjällräven or Columbia and are far superior to those from CMP or Decathlon. The velcro fastening, the amount of belt loops and pockets, the YKK zippers... are all great features, all at an unbeatable price. I am 1.84m tall and weigh 90kg, and I usually wear size XL in Helikon-Tex trousers. However, when I tried this model on, they kept slipping down from my waist due to the material's elasticity, so I returned them and ordered a size L instead.
