Helikon-Tex MBDU NyCo Rip-Stop Shirt - MM14

A combat shirt in MM14 camouflage, sewn according to the MBDU (Modern Battle Dress Uniform) design. Made from durable NyCo material, additionally reinforced with Rip-Stop weave. The anatomical fit and side elastic inserts made of VeraStretch fabric ensure a perfect fit and complete freedom of movement.

The shirt is made of durable NyCo fabric, combining the strength of nylon (52%) with the breathability and softness of natural cotton (48%). This material is further enhanced with a Rip-Stop weave, preventing it from tearing and increasing resistance to mechanical damage.

The side parts of the shirt feature elastic inserts made of VeraStretch material, which enhance freedom of movement and wearing comfort, especially during dynamic activities.

four practical pockets

The model is equipped with four pockets:

  • two on the chest, closed with zippers
  • two on the sleeves, at shoulder height (with an inner loop)

The shirt is buttoned and equipped with a collar that can be raised and secured with Velcro. The sleeve cuffs are also fitted with Velcro, allowing for adjustment and fitting to the wrists or worn gloves.

Above the pockets and on the shoulders are Velcro panels that allow the attachment of various patches or emblems, such as a national flag, unit insignia, or so-called Morale Patches. For better air circulation, mesh panels are placed under the arms to improve breathability.

MM14 camouflage

The name MM-14 is an abbreviation of маскувальний малюнок (maskuvalʹnyy malyunok = camouflage pattern) and the year 2014, when the camouflage was approved. The pattern is similar to the American UCP camouflage, but shades were chosen to match the natural colors of Ukraine. The introduction of MM-14 was a significant step in the reform of the Ukrainian army, designed to move away from post-Soviet identification. MM14 camouflage is also unofficially known as Ukrainian Pixel Camo and Ukrainian Digital Camo.

    The Helikon-Tex MBDU NyCo Ripstop sweatshirt in MultiCam Black is a really sturdy shirt and super comfortable to wear. It also looks really great. The hook-and-loop fasteners at the ends of the sleeves are finally long enough to adjust them nice and tight. On me, at 184 cm and 85 kg, size XL fits perfectly. It sits close without feeling tight or hanging loosely. The only thing is the button placket isn’t my friend; it’s too stiff for me to use easily—so I leave the buttons closed and pull it on over my head. ;-) Definitely a buy recommendation from me.

    I really liked the Helikon-Tex MBDU combat shirt for its material quality and fit. The NyCo Rip-Stop fabric feels durable without being too coarse, so it is comfortable to move in and to wear for long periods throughout the day. The cut is comfortable, nothing pulls in the shoulders, and it does not get in the way when you raise your arms or work with gear. The MM14 camouflage looks very good and pairs well with field trousers and other equipment. I especially liked the pockets and the overall thoughtful design of the shirt. You can organize your items properly, access to the pockets is convenient, and the hook-and-loop fasteners and hardware seem reliable. After several uses, the fabric keeps its shape, the seams are neat, and it does not feel like a cheap item. I chose the Mud Brown color because it was available at a great discount that was too good to pass up.     This Helikon MBDU NyCo Rip-Stop shirt in multicam black really is a top quality shirt. Very nice comfortable tailored fit, large discreet pockets on the chest plus decent size pockets on the arms. The breathable mesh under the armpits is a nice touch now the weather is warming up.     Great sweatshirt, definitely surpasses the SFU model. Although the material is also not stretchy, it fits better right away and is more comfortable. Extra pockets would certainly be useful, but other than that I have no complaints. Highly recommend, very practical item of clothing.
