The knee pads fit perfectly into the Helikon-Tex MCDU DyNyCo Rip-Stop pants. There is no need to trim them, and that way they also provide better protection. I still haven’t been able to use them for an extended period, but at first impression they do not interfere with walking, although they do retain heat.

If you already own a pair of Helikon-Tex trousers compatible with them, you will likely want a pair of these insertable knee pads. I believe they are a worthwhile purchase, as they offer comfort and protection during work and other outdoor activities. While they were presumably designed for tactical, military, or law enforcement use, I use them for camping and hiking; my knees appreciate the protection against impacts while scrambling or during tasks that require kneeling for extended periods. They are lightweight, flexible and durable, while also providing effective insulation against cold and moisture. However, I do not use them during the warmer months because they reduce breathability—especially when paired with Pilgrim or Woodsman trousers, which can already feel hot in temperatures above 18ºC. The templates printed on the packaging allow you to trim the pads to size, ensuring a proper fit for various trouser models.

The knee and elbow pads serve their purpose and provide good protection. I use them together with the Helikon-Tex MCDU DyNyCo Rip-Stop trousers in RAL 7013, where they fit well and stay securely in place. The only downside is that they get quite warm during extended wear. I am therefore considering adding small ventilation holes in the areas where the knees do not rest, in order to reduce heat build-up somewhat.

Bought together with the UTP Flex Pants, they could be used without much trouble. For other pants models, corresponding cutting patterns are provided on the packaging. The pads themselves are only moderately useful as knee protection and most resemble a thin yoga mat you kneel on. You should only kneel quickly or slide on your knees with hard knee pads.

I bought the protective inserts together with Helikon pants. They're soft and look high-quality. However, it seems that the price is too high for them. In summer, your knees will feel hot because they don't let air through. They are not for full knee protection; in that case, you should get good over-knee pads. Later, I got Alta ones for harsh conditions, with a great discount from Military.

Good inserts, they can be a replacement for external knee pads and effectively absorb shocks during less intense activities. Additionally, they provide good thermal insulation.

They slide easily into the designated pockets on MBDU pants and are completely unnoticeable once in place. They are really effective for protecting your joints when kneeling on hard or rocky surfaces. Comfort is definitely there, and they do not restrict knee movement at all while walking.
