Helikon-Tex Gunfighter Softshell Shark Skin Windblocker Jacket - Adaptive Green

Lightweight Softshell jacket in Adaptive Green, made of elastic SharkSkin fabric. It effectively protects against wind and precipitation, while providing good thermal insulation. Designed for use in both tactical operations and everyday urban conditions.

SharkSkin material, breathability 8000 g/m2

The design uses SharkSkin fabric, which stretches in all directions. Fleece lining is used on the inside and at the collar. The sleeves from the wrists to the elbows are reinforced with durable fabric. Breathability of 8000 g/m2 prevents excessive sweating during activity. Ventilation openings under the arms, adjustable with zippers, increase air flow. Branches, leaves, and other forest debris do not stick to the surface of the material, which can be a problem with fleece.

Windblocker membrane, Chemours Teflon waterproofing

The Windblocker membrane is a flexible and breathable windproof layer integrated directly into the outer fabric. Its task is to reduce body cooling while maintaining moisture wicking properties. The outer layer of the fabric is coated with Chemours Teflon waterproofing, which protects against light rain and dirt.

7 spacious pockets

The jacket features 7 functional pockets:

  • two zippered chest pockets with D-rings and small organizers
  • two shoulder pockets with headphone cable openings
  • one zippered pocket on the left sleeve, near the wrist
  • one internal pocket with Velcro closure
  • one rear “poacher's” pocket with two independent openings on the sides

Hood with visor, adjustable cuffs

The large hood, which can be hidden in the collar, is equipped with a soft visor that protects the face from dripping water. The hood's design does not expose the neck when unfolded, reducing the risk of wind chill. Adjustment is possible thanks to drawstrings. The cuffs are finished with a Velcro fastening, allowing you to adjust the circumference to the thickness of your wrist or the clothing worn underneath, such as gloves or a watch.

Velcro panels

The shoulders feature sewn-in Velcro panels designed for attaching patches such as flags, unit insignia, or morale patches, allowing you to customize your jacket.

YKK zippers

The main fastener is a two-way zipper by YKK, a brand known for its reliable technical fastening solutions.

I've only been using the jacket for a short time, but I can already see that it is very practical and does its job well – it effectively protects against wind, drizzle, and wet snow. The high collar protects the neck, and the adjustable hood covers the head well. The vents under the arms allow for better ventilation during more intense activity. The only small downside for me is the high placement of the side pockets, which aren't very comfortable for keeping your hands in. Additionally, when I bought the jacket, the selection of colors and sizes was very limited, and I really needed it.

I am very satisfied with the Helikon-Tex Gunfighter jacket in Shadow Grey – it's an excellent choice. The jacket is extremely comfortable and, to my surprise, provides great warmth – when the temperature is above 5°C, just a T-shirt underneath is enough and I feel very comfortable. The Shark Skin material with Windblocker membrane perfectly protects against gusts of wind, ensuring high thermal comfort. I especially like the large number of pockets, arranged very thoughtfully – they can hold all the necessary items. The jacket is solidly finished and very functional, so I sincerely recommend it to anyone looking for a durable softshell.

The jacket is very pleasant and durable. It keeps you warm and effectively protects against wind. After waterproofing, it also works great in the rain. The rolled-up hood hidden in the collar feels like a solid, thick scarf around your neck. On warmer days or during exertion, the ventilation works perfectly.

Fits very well. I am 173 cm tall and weigh 75 kg, chest circumference 105 cm. I wear the jacket during reservist exercises for the Bundeswehr and am completely satisfied. When it's cold, there is still room for a fleece jacket and vest underneath. The zippers do not press under the plate carrier. Very good product. The flecktarn pattern matches 100% with the original camouflage pattern of the Bundeswehr.

I recommend this jacket – I've been using it for the third year now, and even at -10 degrees it works well in winter. You just need to wear a sweatshirt and a long-sleeve shirt underneath, no need for special thermal clothing. After reading reviews of the Helikon winter jacket, I definitely recommend this softshell more.

A very comfortable jacket, with the inner fleece lining helping to keep warm even at 0°C. The DWR is pretty decent, with light snow and rain beading off quickly. The armpit can be quite tight for XS, but the rest of the jacket is rightly sized. Taiga Green is a little lighter coloured and greener than the picture suggests, but still looks great.

Great jacket, I bought it in the flecktarn pattern, really nice colors, good pockets, hood and drawstrings – really great. As someone who enjoys hiking, I find it fully sufficient. The camouflage looks very good, I definitely recommend it.

The jacket is well made and has a pleasant-to-touch lining. It works well on its own in spring and autumn, and in winter you can easily fit a thicker fleece underneath. The pockets are functional, and the hood can be hidden. I definitely recommend it!

Just like other clothing from Helikon, the jacket is nicely designed, with thought and attention to detail... almost. Unfortunately, as is often the case with their clothes (at least the ones I own), the designers stumbled precisely on those little details. For example, the chest pockets are a good solution, but only if you’re not using a backpack – and obviously, the jacket is meant for situations where a backpack is standard. The zippers of the pockets are then hidden under the backpack straps, making them hard to access or pressing into your body. The hood with Velcro works great, as long as you don’t wear a Helikon cap with Velcro, because then the Velcros stick together. The back pocket at the bottom of the jacket is an interesting feature, but I recommend trying to put something heavier than a lighter in there – the experience isn’t great, especially when you try to get to it. Overall – a few less gadgets would be enough. Other than that, I can recommend it.

The military jacket stands out for its durability and practicality. Made from sturdy fabrics, it effectively protects against cold and wind, and also features many pockets, making it very functional. Although it has a military look, it provides comfort and is perfect for everyday wear. It’s a solid option for those looking for durability and a versatile design.

The jacket is very comfortable and well-made, crafted from nice and high-quality fabric. The placement of the pockets, hood, and other elements is quite well designed. A very convenient and quality jacket.

The fabric used to make the jacket is of very good quality. The pockets are well placed. The price is rather high, but it's worth waiting for a promotion. I noticed two things that might be bothersome: the first is the hood hidden in the collar—inserting it back in, you can clearly feel it when moving your head, which might be annoying for some people, including myself, especially if you like high collars. The second thing is the fit—the jacket has little room inside, so it's hard to wear it over, for example, a hoodie (like the Helikon Patriot MK2), unless you choose a larger size.

This is one of the best softshells I’ve ever had the chance to wear. It’s stylish, comfortable, durable, and reasonably priced. I have a strong affinity for the Helikon brand because it delivers quality products at an affordable price. Plus, when you buy it, you support a local company. I highly recommend it with full confidence.

I am 180 cm tall, weigh 80 kg, have an athletic build and size L is perfect for me. The jacket handles water well in the rain – I’ve worn it at the shooting range several times in such conditions. The pockets, fit, and workmanship are very good. As for resistance to abrasion, Velcro can cause pilling. If you only use a belt with a handgun, the jacket works great. When using a long gun and a low-quality belt, the material may become abraded. I use it at the shooting range but try not to damage it. I definitely recommend it.

I'll start with the positives – the jacket looks great and fits very well. It's lightweight, has plenty of pockets and interesting features, and a really nice hood. Light wind or rain is no problem, and you just want to wear it – exactly what I've always dreamed of. However, there are a few downsides: when you put it on, you may feel like the shoulders were sewn differently, but that feeling quickly goes away (probably because of the zippers under the armpits or the sewing method – when you raise your arms, only the sleeve goes up). The material seems to get dirty easily, but it's quick to wipe off. In my jacket, one of the hood cords in the pocket was stuck, the other worked fine. Despite these flaws, I'm very happy with it. I previously used a Brandit M65 with a liner; it lasted for 10 years. Now I'll use the liner for this jacket, because why buy extra fleeces if I have one that works great. As for the M65, winter was no problem, but it was very heavy. If not for worn cuffs, pockets and faded color, it would be indestructible. It survived trips to the woods, work, and the city – nothing hurt it. I don't know if this jacket will be just as durable, maybe it's just a matter of getting used to it after the M65. One last downside for Militaria and INPOST – I paid 15 PLN for next-day delivery (as advertised), ordered Friday afternoon, and received the package only on Monday, so a standard shipment.
