A great, very well-designed product that can be used in many ways: as a waist pack, an extra pocket for a backpack, or a shoulder bag. I use it as a carrier for a one-liter Helikon bottle, gloves, a few energy bars, and a scarf. In another configuration, it fits a Mil-Tec sleeping bag liner, which works well indoors all year round. It can also easily hold a Gore-Tex jacket and trousers. In my opinion, it is one of the better products — made of ripstop material, with a rubberized interior, additional shock cords, and PALS webbing. I take it to work, into the woods, and on every trip; I practically always have it with me.

MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) is a system for attachment of tactical equipment, used for example in backpacks or tactical vests. It provides the possibility of flexible and modular placement of various accessories and pockets, which allows personalization and optimal adjustment of the item to the specific needs of the user. It is widely used by the military, special services and survival and outdoor enthusiasts.
Woojin buckles are a type of buckles and fasteners made of high-quality materials such as polyamide or polypropylene, which ensures durability and weather resistance. They are widely used in the manufacture of backpacks, bags, clothing and tactical gear, providing sturdy, reliable and easy-to-use fasteners.
PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) is a modular mounting system for pockets and pouches, used in the MOLLE system. It consists of horizontally sewn rows of 1 inch (25.4 mm) wide, fixed spacing webbing (such as on a backpack) and vertical webbing for attachment and threading (on a pocket). This system is usually equipped with snaps, which further secures the pinned items.

Review summary
The Helikon Foxhole 4.5l bag receives high praise for its versatility, capacity, and sturdy construction. Users appreciate that it can be attached to a backpack or carried alone thanks to the MOLLE/PALS system. Lightweight and compact, the bag offers several carrying options—hip bag, backpack pocket, or shoulder bag. Despite its small size, it fits a jacket, tarp, poncho, or other essentials, with materials that effectively protect the contents from moisture. The main drawback mentioned is the use of plastic clips instead of traditional molle straps, which can compromise stability during active use. Additionally, very slim users may find the strap too short. Overall, most customers recommend this bag for short outings, bushcraft, or EDC, highlighting its impressive functionality and reasonable price.

This is another great purchase from Helikon. The bag is made of durable material and carefully finished. It is lightweight and, when folded, does not take up much space. Thanks to the universal attachment system, it can serve as a standalone waist pack or tactical bag, as well as an additional cargo pocket attached to backpacks and vests.

Great bag! At first I had some doubts before buying it, but after just a few days of use I decided it was an excellent choice. It provides easy and quick access, it can be carried on its own or attached to a backpack, it is made of sturdy material, and when folded it takes up very little space.
-
Useful bag. Good size for convenient carry. Be aware, however, that the clips are pretty weak and break easily, but they can be replaced easily. Otherwise, I'm happy with it

Great, lightweight bag! Thanks to the attachment system, it can be fastened to a backpack or a MOLLE belt, and the adjustable strap makes it possible to carry it separately. It works perfectly for a water bottle, a jacket, and small items. The material is durable, I definitely recommend it!

The Helikon-Tex Foxhole bag is great) for this price, it's a very versatile pouch that can be attached to a backpack or carried as a bag. It is definitely worth its price, especially with the discount from Militaria.
-
A very functional and well-made bag. When folded, it takes up very little space, so it works great when extra luggage space is needed. The material and the ability to attach it in several different ways are a big plus.

I was looking for and found a great storage place for my Grayl Geopress. Great bag from Helikon-Tex. 👍😊 Maybe I'll come up with another way to use the bag on other occasions. 🤷🏽♂️

Very high quality and useful item, although I don't use it every day, it is very handy and always kept as a spare. It's perfect for jackets in cold weather, and it also works well as a pouch for a backpack.
-
A very versatile bag, usable as a shoulder bag, on the belt, or attached to a backpack via a strap or molle loops. I feel like it's also waterproof against light rain. Really practical!

This is another product from the Helikon Tex brand that I have purchased. The company offers products at moderate prices and good quality, which makes their price-to-quality ratio favorable. I rate this bag similarly – it works well for storing a sweatshirt and provides easy access.
-
I am very satisfied with this bag and its functionality – it adds little weight to the luggage, but allows you to take a spare jacket or increase the capacity of your backpack without having to carry large bags or a backpack.

The bag can be attached to almost any surface. Thanks to the well-designed clips and compatibility with the MOLLE/PALS system, it easily attaches to the sides of a large backpack, a load-bearing belt, or a plate carrier. The presence of a removable shoulder strap allows you to instantly turn it into a lightweight city or field bag worn over the shoulder. Unique closure system (Roll-top + fastex). Instead of a classic zipper, which can get clogged with dirt or break, a roll-top system is used here. This not only ensures excellent protection of the contents from rain, snow, and dust, but also allows you to adjust the bag’s volume—you can compress it if it’s only half full. Lightweight and durable material. The bag is made of brand-name hi-tech Rip-Stop nylon. It weighs almost nothing when empty, but has high tear resistance thanks to reinforced threads. Ideal capacity for specific items (4.5L). The volume is perfectly calculated for items that are usually inconvenient to carry inside a backpack. It easily fits a large 1.5-liter water bottle (e.g., Nalgene or Klean Kanteen), a lightweight windbreaker/rain poncho, a hammock with a tarp, a camp stove with a canister, or a winter kit (hat, buff, gloves). Quick access. Vertical loading allows you to get the needed item (for example, a raincoat during a sudden downpour) in just seconds, without removing the main backpack if the Foxhole is attached from the side. This is an example of smart minimalism. It completely solves the problem of lack of space on the exterior of a backpack and offers incredible versatility in use. The materials and hardware (Woojin), as is traditional for Helikon-Tex, perform reliably. If you are looking for a lightweight, strong, and moisture-protected “reservoir” for quick access items—this is top for its price. I recommend it!

The bag is very practical. I most often use it during short trips. It easily holds water, snacks, and a light jacket, although you can fit anything in it that doesn't fit in my hip bag. It's even useful for small shopping trips. Personally, I don't use the buckles because I don't like it when the backpack has things hanging from it. Overall, I like the idea and multifunctionality of this bag.

A very clever "bag for things." I've put my jacket, water bottles, and other necessary items in it many times. I subtract one star only because of the original buckles, which I immediately replaced with those from the Alice system. Otherwise, it's a really interesting solution.
