MultiCam is an advanced camouflage design created in 2002 by the US firm Crye Precision in collaboration with the United States Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs) as a part of the Objective Force Warrior initiative. The aim was to develop a flexible camouflage pattern effective across diverse terrains and varying environmental conditions. The MultiCam pattern features seven distinct colors, producing smooth transitions between different shades of green, brown, and beige. As a result, it effectively blends with the surroundings, adopting green tones in wooded areas or browns and beiges in desert landscapes; it is especially effective in Central and Eastern European settings during the fall and among dry foliage. MultiCam has earned global acclaim and is employed by numerous military forces and special units. In 2010, the US Army officially adopted the camouflage for troops deployed in Afghanistan, replacing the previous Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP).
