The shirt is crafted from elastic and quick-drying polyester with a weight of 128 g/m2, recognized for its resistance to abrasion and mechanical damage, making it ideal for both urban and outdoor environments. 4 spacious pockets
The shirt comes with four functional chest pockets:
- two primary ones with flaps closed by velcro, offering top access
- two discreet napoleon-style pockets concealed behind the main pockets, secured with lightweight and durable YKK zippers

I really liked the Helikon-Tex Defender Mk2 Gentleman shirt because it looks understated and neat, but in actual wear it feels much more practical than a regular shirt. You can comfortably wear it in the city, to work, while traveling, or on trips, and it does not look overly “tactical.” The material feels pleasant against the body, does not restrict movement, and fits the figure well. The Black/Grey Melange color looks restrained and pairs easily with jeans, tactical pants, or a light jacket. I especially liked the pockets and the overall thoughtfulness of the cut. You can keep your phone, documents, or small items close at hand, while the shirt still maintains a normal everyday appearance. After several uses, I did not notice any discomfort in the shoulders or back, even when sitting for a long time or moving around a lot. It may be a bit too heavy for intense heat, but it works very well for spring, autumn, and cool evenings. Overall, it is a successful shirt for those who want something more functional, but without unnecessary showiness.

I took the Defender Mk2 Gentleman in Light Blue for the summer. The fabric is thin, a blend of polyester and viscose, but thanks to the Aero-Tech weave, it breathes excellently and dries instantly. The main advantage is the hidden chest pockets with YKK zippers, which easily fit documents or a smartphone. I've been wearing it for a month already under a light jacket and just solo. The material is elastic, doesn’t restrict movement at all. The fabric hardly wrinkles after washing, which saves a lot of time in the morning. It looks civilian, but the functionality is purely tactical.

This is another Helikon shirt in my collection, this time in one of the nicest shades. The fabric is not too thick, so it works well during many hours in warm rooms, and the underarm inserts do a great job. The shirt doesn't rustle or wrinkle too much. My only complaint, which I also had with another color of this model, is that the cuffs are too tight. Unfortunately, if you wear a larger watch like a Garmin or Casio G-Shock, the cuff won't fit such a watch and this can be inconvenient on a daily basis. Apart from this one downside, the shirt is definitely worth its price. Good quality comes at a cost, and there's nothing to complain about here. I definitely recommend it.
