Designed in Black/Grey Melange, this long-sleeve tactical shirt offers comfort and functionality for both uniformed service members and outdoor lovers who demand durable construction and practical form. With a relaxed fit, it easily accommodates natural movement and allows for comfortable wearing under a low-profile ballistic vest or an IWB (Inside the Waistband) holster.
Polyester construction, UPF rating
The shirt consists of elastic and quick-drying polyester weighing 128 g/m2, renowned for its resistance to abrasion and mechanical damage, making it ideal for both urban and outdoor environments. For improved ventilation, breathable mesh panels are located under the arms, greatly enhancing comfort during physical activity. The Defender Mk2 model has a UV protection factor (UPF) of >30.
4 spacious pockets
The shirt comes equipped with four practical chest pockets:
- two primary pockets with flaps secured by velcro, accessed from the top
- two napoleon-style pockets concealed behind the main ones, fastened with lightweight and durable YKK zippers
Button placket, loop, reinforced collar
The primary closure features a button placket and includes a loop designed for hanging sunglasses. A reinforcement sewn into the front under the collar helps prevent it from rolling unintentionally.

I took the Defender Mk2 Gentleman in Light Blue for the summer. The fabric is thin, a blend of polyester and viscose, but thanks to the Aero-Tech weave, it breathes excellently and dries instantly. The main advantage is the hidden chest pockets with YKK zippers, which easily fit documents or a smartphone. I've been wearing it for a month already under a light jacket and just solo. The material is elastic, doesn’t restrict movement at all. The fabric hardly wrinkles after washing, which saves a lot of time in the morning. It looks civilian, but the functionality is purely tactical.

This is another Helikon shirt in my collection, this time in one of the nicest shades. The fabric is not too thick, so it works well during many hours in warm rooms, and the underarm inserts do a great job. The shirt doesn't rustle or wrinkle too much. My only complaint, which I also had with another color of this model, is that the cuffs are too tight. Unfortunately, if you wear a larger watch like a Garmin or Casio G-Shock, the cuff won't fit such a watch and this can be inconvenient on a daily basis. Apart from this one downside, the shirt is definitely worth its price. Good quality comes at a cost, and there's nothing to complain about here. I definitely recommend it.
