Temperatures and usage conditions
Trondeland sleeping bag temperature specifications as per EN 13537 standard:
- T-max: 14 C – the maximum temperature where one can sleep in the bag without overheating,
- T-comfort: -3 C – the coldest temperature at which a woman can enjoy a comfortable night's sleep,
- T-limit: -9 C – the lowest temperature a man can sleep without experiencing discomfort,
- T-extreme: -29 C – the minimum temperature survivable in the sleeping bag. Not advisable for regular use.
210T Rip-Stop polyester, polyamide lining
The exterior layer is crafted from 210T Rip-Stop polyester, which is highly resistant to wear and ripping. Inside, it features a lining made of 190T polyamide. The footbox is designed in a basin shape to support the natural positioning of the feet and enhance insulation in that region. An internal pocket provides storage for small items, and loops are available for attaching an additional thermal liner.
MICROfill Super-Therm insulation
The sleeping bag features MICROfill Super-Therm synthetic insulation, renowned for its lightness and softness. Its microfiber composition ensures high loft and efficient thermal insulation. Even after numerous washes, the material retains its qualities.
Right-side zipper, Anti-Bite system
The model is equipped with a two-way zipper positioned on the right side, enabling complete opening from both the top and bottom. A fluorescent puller facilitates the use of the zipper in low-light conditions. The Anti-Bite system ensures the fabric doesn’t get snagged in the zipper. An internal thermal baffle provides extra protection against heat loss.
Integrated hood, DUO drawcord, thermal collar
The three-dimensional hood is designed to efficiently shield the head while minimizing heat loss. Its construction also acts as a safeguard against wind and moisture. The DUO drawcord features a combination of elastic and webbing—the elastic allows for movement without needing adjustments, and the webbing at the back facilitates quick width adjustments, especially beneficial at night. The thermal collar, a down-filled tube with a drawcord at shoulder height, effectively restricts cold air from entering the bag.
Convenient transport and storage
Functional design allows for easy transport and storage. When folded, the sleeping bag's dimensions are 38 x 24 cm and it has a weight of 2000 g, making it perfect for extended hikes and journeys.

The sleeping bag retains heat quite well, but for someone my size (I'm 178 cm tall, on the border of MID and XL), it's fairly snug. Unfortunately, the sleeping bag is heavy and doesn't compress well. Rolling and stuffing it into the bag is quite a challenge, as it often slips out. Overall, it's a warm but heavy and large sleeping bag for a base camp.

This is a large sleeping bag that provides excellent insulation from the cold.

Thoughtful design and matches the declared thermal properties. At +8°C, it was enough just to cover up with it. Previous Fiord Nansen models with similar insulation were also well-made, but this one is even more reliable in terms of thermal performance.
