The sleeping bag is great - very warm and lightweight. However, I think the storage bag could be a bit smaller. In my opinion, the H-type baffles are too shallow compared to their width, which means that the high-quality 900 cuin down cannot fully expand, which I think is a waste for Polish down of this class. Such baffle proportions are usually seen in cheap Chinese brands like Black Snow.
Fjord Nansen Svalbard 450 Goose XL Sleeping Bag 830 g – right
Ultralight mummy-shaped design allows for a natural body posture and unrestricted movement during sleep. Crafted from durable outer nylon and filled with goose down, it offers excellent thermal insulation.
Temperature ratings and usage conditions
According to the EN 13537 standard, the Svalbard sleeping bag has the following temperature ratings:
- T-comfort: -2 C – this is the lowest temperature at which a woman can comfortably sleep,
- T-limit: -7 C – this represents the lowest temperature at which a man can sleep without discomfort,
- T-extreme: -25 C – this is the minimum survival temperature and is not recommended for regular use.
10D Rip-Stop nylon with Water Repellent coating
Both the exterior and interior layers are crafted from lightweight 10D Rip-Stop nylon, featuring a hydrophobic WR (Water Repellent) coating to minimize moisture absorption. The Rip-Stop weave ensures durability against abrasion and prevents further damage from tears. Inside, there are loops for attaching a thermal liner and a small pocket for essential items.
Goose down filling, H-shaped construction
Polish goose down with a 93+/7 ratio and 900 cuin fill power delivers efficient thermal insulation. It is distinguished by its excellent compressibility, enabling the bag to be packed tightly. H-shaped baffles ensure the filling remains in place. The shark fin-shaped footbox aligns with the natural foot position, enhancing thermal comfort and increasing internal space. The bottom is constructed at a 70-degree angle.
Right-side zipper, Anti-Bite system
The model is equipped with a two-way zipper on the right side, enabling it to be opened from both ends. A fluorescent puller aids in operating the zipper in low-light conditions. The Anti-Bite system ensures the fabric does not snag. Inside, the zipper is protected by a thermal baffle. This model can be connected to another sleeping bag from the same series.
Integrated hood, DUO drawcord, thermal collar
The 3D-shaped hood boosts head insulation and reduces heat loss in frigid conditions, while its form also shields against wind and moisture. The DUO drawcord features elastic around the neck, permitting arm extension without needing adjustment, and a rear strap for easy loosening. The internal thermal collar, a down-filled tube with a drawcord positioned at shoulder height, efficiently prevents cold air infiltration.
Easy to transport and store
Effortless to carry and store. When folded, the sleeping bag measures 36 x 19 cm and has a weight of just 830 g, making it perfect for minimalist adventures.

The set comes with a functional stuff sack designed to shield the bag from dirt and damage while being transported.
