I've been using this thermos for a long time, holds temperature well, it's tight and doesn't leak. Unfortunately, Esbit has a problem with the lids/caps, because during washing, water gets inside and stays there, causing it to mix with the styrofoam, which can spread unpleasant smells and contaminants that may affect the food inside.
Esbit Food Jug 500 ml - Black
A 500 ml food thermos in black is crafted for the storage and transport of meals. Its wide opening facilitates easy consumption directly from the container. With superior thermal insulation, this model adeptly maintains both the warmth and coolness of the contents, making it ideal for year-round use, regardless of weather.
durable construction, silver layer, safety valve
The structure is constructed from robust stainless steel, offering resistance to both impact and corrosion. The exterior features a matte anti-slip coating that enhances grip and user comfort. Inside, a silver layer is applied, providing antibacterial properties that help maintain hygiene by restricting microorganism growth.
Equipped with a safety valve, the lid incorporates a button that releases excess pressure before opening, preventing sudden steam discharge or lid detachment for improved user safety.
temperature maintenance range
Experiments with water heated to 98 degrees C showed exceptional thermal insulation capabilities:
- After 6 hours, the temperature was 65 degrees C.
- At 12 hours, it recorded 45 degrees C.
- By 24 hours, the temperature was 30 degrees C.
Testing was performed in an environment with an ambient temperature of 20 degrees C (+/- 2 degrees C).

It's easy to clean, has good thermal insulation, is compact, lets you pack a sizeable portion of soup, but you can also carry a main course in it just as well. If necessary, it can also serve as a classic drink thermos.

Very good quality thermos. Well made, comfortable to hold. Doesn't leak and keeps temperature for a long time. Thanks to the wide opening, you can easily eat directly from the thermos.
-
Very useful, it works great for storing soup and drinks. Maintains temperature well and is leakproof. After 6 hours, the soup tasted as if it was just served, although after opening, the contents cool quickly.

The food thermos is made of good quality materials, sturdy. Works in various weather conditions, keeps warmth for a long time. I‘m very happy with the purchase, nothing leaks from the thermos. I also recommend other products from this brand.

I purchased the Esbit Food Jug 0.5L meal thermos in olive color and I am very satisfied. It is solidly made, durable, and keeps temperature for a long time. Works great for carrying hot food during trips or at work. The 0.5L capacity is enough for one meal, and the tight lid prevents leaks. The thermos is compact, easy to clean, and very handy. I recommend it to everyone looking for a reliable food thermos.

I have been using the thermos for over a year, regularly since April, five days a week. It maintains heat very well. I’ve noticed that liquid foods stay warm longer than, for example, potatoes with meat. After about three months, the metal cover on the lid fell off (it can be hot-glued), and a few days later the casing of the valve button detached. These issues do not affect the basic functions of the thermos.

I love Esbit thermoses. This is my second one, the first was for drinks. If you preheat the thermos with boiling water as instructed, the meal is still warm after several hours – a bit cooler than at the beginning, but perfect for eating. I recommend it.

Thermos of very good quality, keeps heat for a long time. Thanks to the wide opening, it's easy to eat meals. I bought one not just for myself but also for my parents. Definitely recommend it—nothing compares.

Great little thermos – easy to carry, works well for transporting soups and second dishes, which stay hot for up to 8 hours. The large opening makes it easy to eat directly from the thermos.

Great product. I bought it for myself, but it turns out my daughter takes her lunch in it to school every day. For a child, it's a great way to bring a warm meal like potatoes with meat or dumplings. It keeps the temperature for a very long time. Also tested as an ice container during camping. Solid and functional.

Thermoses from this series are very nice, comfortable to use, do not leak—I have even used them to store soups. They keep heat very well for a long time—a meal made in the morning is still hot after 5-6 hours. Highly recommend!

Great food thermos, fits a whole meal and maintains the desired temperature. I definitely recommend it to people who prefer not to cook outdoors.

The thermos is very practical. I have several for my children. They keep food warm for a long time and are easy to clean. They work perfectly for everyday use at school. I sincerely recommend!

The thermos is compact and practical – it fits easily into a backpack, so it’s great for trips. At first, I thought it would be a bit small, but so far I’m satisfied.
