Very satisfied – the reviews here weren't lying. The backpack really looks good, it's high-quality and versatile... I've already tried it for both hiking and walking around the city. What surprised me at first was that the main compartment doesn't have as much volume as it seems from the outside, but the front pocket, on the other hand, offers almost the same volume... this isn't a downside, you just have to get used to it – even larger pieces of gear can be put into the front pocket (unlike some other tactical backpacks that have a deep main compartment and a small front pocket). I was a bit worried about the color – coyote shade – but it's really brown (not coyote tan!). A big plus are the side compartments for drinks, which securely fit even a 1.5L bottle and you can access the bottle without taking the backpack off (tested with a 0.75L bottle), which is the biggest advantage for me during marches. I also appreciate the often hated hip belt mentioned in reviews... although it's quite narrow and not padded (compared to the enlarged 30L version), when rucking it's noticeable support.

+pro: As usual from Direct Action, absolute pro equipment, in my opinion it's in no way inferior to top-tier brands. The color is perfect (Ranger Green) for urban use and deployment. Many really well-thought-out small compartments and pockets, various loops inside the backpack, not to mention the countless attachment options outside of it. The overall geometry and the side pockets with MOLLE are also top-notch. The shoulder straps and back system are unmatched among daypacks. All straps stay in place once adjusted, nothing slips like, for example, with the 5.11 Rush. -contra: nothing to complain about.

I really like this pack. Build quality feels excellent — sturdy and well-made, the kind of bag that should survive outdoor use for years. A couple of minor drawbacks keep it from a perfect score. First, the compression straps on the bottom: the plastic buckles can’t be removed or stowed away cleanly, so the bag ends up resting on them whenever you set it down. Second, it runs a little tighter than other packs of a similar stated volume. That depends on what you carry — soft gear packs fine, but once you add a laptop, notebooks, a rain jacket and a bit of other equipment, it fills up quickly. The front compartment swallows the most volume, but once that’s full the middle compartment gets cramped. To be fair, this isn’t meant to be an urban office bag, and for its intended purpose it does exactly what it should. Very happy with it overall — four stars, with the bottom buckle design as the main area for improvement.

I was considering buying this model as well as the Wisport MK2 30L. This backpack has better reviews, and I have previously used a 40-liter Wisport. The hip belt doesn't work very well. Ultimately, I chose the Dragon's Egg and I'm happy with it.

Great backpack, everything is precisely planned. Sturdy material, lots of compartments, reinforced back, a separate laptop compartment, and roll-up, hidden straps. It's a pity there are no two-tone versions, as they would look amazing. Unfortunately, the price is very high.

Dragon Egg Mk. II is an excellent EDC and tactical backpack – small size, but lots of space, laser-cut MOLLE system, and well-designed shoulder straps. It works great both in the city and on shorter trips. Sturdy, well thought out, definitely worth its price.

The backpack description is inaccurate. No 15.4-15.6 inch laptop will fit in the back pocket; it is physically impossible. It's a pity, because that's what I was counting on, and I was disappointed. Additionally, there is a strap that keeps your gear in place. The backpack has many different compartments, is very spacious, and thoughtfully designed. The handle and the hip and chest straps are strong and durable. The side pockets use Velcro, you can tighten the sides with straps, and there’s an option to attach additional equipment, which are big advantages. The downside is the weight – 1600g, which is noticeable. However, the perforated back panel, durable handle, and high quality make up for this inconvenience.

Even though it’s a tactical backpack, it doesn’t appear aggressive or intimidating. The numerous pockets allow for convenient organization. It’s durable, has good zippers, and the side pockets are flexible – that’s a great solution. A laptop fits easily, and a 1L Nalgene bottle easily fits in the side pockets.
