In the physical store, I tried on several Columbia jackets and softshells, about six different models. I was completely sure that size L would be perfect, but this specific model actually corresponds more to size XL (despite what the label says). Supposedly it's a Regular cut, but for me it fits rather loosely. The chest pocket seems too big and too deep – when you put a wallet or ticket in it, it almost falls into the lower pocket. I rate the workmanship quality very highly; the softshell material noticeably differs from North Face: it’s softer, exceptionally comfortable to the touch. The hood is also a plus – it’s lightly insulated, fits well, although you won’t fit a helmet under it. Will I consider size M? Probably not – the oversized chest pocket is a dealbreaker for me.
