A sleeping bag of very good quality, as expected from Carinthia. I bought it to replace my previous Tropen, mainly because of the centrally positioned zipper. It works great in combination with the Observer Plus bivi and Defence 4.

Lightweight and waterproof sleeping bag in Olive color, featuring a mummy-shaped design, designed for all-year functionality. Temperature range and usage conditions
The Defence Top 1 sleeping bag's operational temperatures are specified following the EN 13537 standard:
- T-limit: 4 C – the minimum temperature at which a man can sleep comfortably throughout the night.
- T-extreme: -10 C – the lowest temperature at which survival in the sleeping bag is possible, although not advised for regular use.
Shellproof polyamide
The sleeping bag's exterior and interior are crafted from Shellproof polyamide, a fabric made of nylon microfibers with a microporous design, ensuring it is resistant to moisture and mechanical damage.
G-Loft insulation, Thermoflect
The interior features G-Loft synthetic insulation, delivering excellent thermal protection. Its dual-layer design maintains insulation capabilities even when wet, after washing, or with heavy use. The Thermoflect layer reflects and retains body heat inside. Outer and inner layers are separated to create an additional insulating barrier.
Central zipper, Anti Snag system
The sleeping bag is designed with a central, two-way zipper that allows for complete opening. Its Anti Snag system ensures that the fabric does not get caught in the zipper. An insulated flap along the zipper helps minimize cold from seeping inside. At the top, a Velcro tab secures the zipper to prevent it from accidentally unzipping during sleep. The trapezoidal foot section enhances thermal comfort while providing extra legroom.
Integrated hood for cold protection
Featuring an anatomically designed hood with an adjustable face opening, this model allows for personalized fitting using drawcords.
Easy transport and storage
When packed, the sleeping bag occupies minimal space, simplifying both transport and storage. The compressed size measures 18 x 28 cm, and it weighs 1300 g, making it an excellent option for trips where packing space is restricted.
