The usage temperatures of the Carinthia D 400X sleeping bag are determined according to the EN 13537 standard:

T-comfort: 0 C - the lowest temperature at which a woman can sleep comfortably all night,
T-limit: -5 C - the minimum temperature at which a man can sleep through the night without discomfort,
T-extreme: -23 C - the lowest temperature in which survival is possible in the sleeping bag. This is not a recommended value for standard use.

The outer shell consists of Pertex Quantum Endurance, with the interior lined by Shelltex Ultra. This lightweight fabric is highly resistant to mechanical damage and provides protection against water, snow, and wind. Its breathability effectively wicks away moisture and sweat, improving sleeping comfort. The fabric's design ensures it is resistant to abrasion and tearing, making the sleeping bag ideal for demanding outdoor environments.

The D400X model incorporates 95/5 CQ-Down goose down, known for being lightweight and providing superior thermal insulation, with a lofty 800 cuin. The down fill is contained within H-chambers, which prevent it from shifting and offer consistent cold weather protection. An additional layer, the DIScover system, serves as an extra insulation barrier, keeping moisture away from the down and preserving the sleeping bag's exceptional thermal efficiency. In addition, it features synthetic G-Loft insulation that retains its insulating properties even in damp conditions, through repeated washes, and over extended use.

The sleeping bag is equipped with a two-way zipper on the right side, which permits complete opening. The Anti Snag system ensures the fabric doesn’t get caught in the zipper, and a Velcro flap at the top stops accidental unzipping while you sleep. A small pocket inside holds small items.

The hood incorporated into the design enhances thermal insulation by encircling the head, effectively preventing heat loss in cold conditions. This feature also offers added defense against wind and moisture.

Packed compactly, the sleeping bag occupies minimal space, ensuring easy transport and storage. It measures 17 x 22 cm when packed and weighs just 853 g, making it convenient to carry without significantly increasing the gear load.
