While looking for non-membrane boots that are comfortable enough to wear all day both indoors and during long walks in the field, I chose the Bates Tactical Sport 2 Midi and so far I’m satisfied. The footwear is solidly made. It doesn’t have unnecessary extras such as a rubber rand or an excessively high sole. Because of this, it looks quite neat for this type of boot and also works well for everyday wear in the city. The lack of a membrane allows the foot to breathe quite well in them. After a short break-in period, the boots are comfortable. However, the lacing system could work a bit more smoothly. Overall, it’s a successful choice for autumn and winter for people looking for durable, versatile boots suitable for both the field and the city.

I wore 8" boots, but I don't think there is much difference. Above all, boots of this quality for this price are almost a revelation. I was a professional soldier (platoon security commander), so the boots were used both for garrison service and on training grounds. Wearing the boots for even a dozen or so hours a day was not a problem. I must add, in my opinion, there are no boots in which, after many hours on your feet without taking them off, you would feel like a baby. But here the price-to-quality ratio is superb. I also have to say that I didn't use any fancy waterproofing agents on the boots, just maintained them with regular polish, and they held up very well. Very good cushioning, comfortable lacing... I wore the boots almost nonstop for three or four years (!) and they were really very durable. I RECOMMEND THESE BOOTS!
