Solid quality, water-resistant, attractive screen, and interesting design. However, it's quite large, not very comfortable to use, a bit too thick and heavy. Despite that, the overall parameters are decent.

Baofeng UV-17E Two-Way Radio 5W - Green
Baofeng UV-17E 5W is a portable two-way radio with a maximum power output of 5 W. It is equipped with a DMTF keypad, dual LCD display, flashlight and FM radio. The design features a 7.4 V lithium-ion rechargeable battery with a capacity of 1800 mAh, charged via a USB-C port.
Dual-channel monitoring, Kenwood K1 connector
A standout feature of the radio is Dual Watch, meaning dual-channel monitoring. It allows monitoring of two different frequencies - priority is given to the frequency on which an incoming call appears. The radio is fitted with a Kenwood K1 type connector, allowing you to connect a headset with microphone to the Baofeng (included in the set), a compatible speaker microphone, or shooting hearing protectors.
99 channels, range up to 10 km, IP54 protection rating
There are 99 channels available, which reduces the risk of conversation interference from other radio users. In favorable conditions, in open terrain, the range reaches up to 10 km. Communication is supported by an automatic muting system and an end-of-transmission tone. The two-way radio meets the IP54 standard - it provides full protection against dust ingress and against splashes and light rain coming from any direction.
programmable, VOX function
The two-way radio can be programmed from the keypad or a computer using a USB cable. In addition, the software includes many features that make grouping and identification easier. The VOX function enables voice-activated transmission without the need to press the PTT button.

I have had positive experiences with Baofeng for a long time. Reviews about this model mentioned that the radio is quite large – indeed, it's much bigger than the UV 5R, but it fits well in the hand. For me, a huge advantage is the ability to charge the battery via the USB-C port. The flashlight is nothing special, but it does its job.

The Baofeng is solidly built, the flashlight shines very brightly, there are many options in the menu, the clip holds firmly, and the screen looks good – I have nothing to complain about, everything is great, I can confidently recommend it. The only minor downside is the size – it's a bit bulky, but apart from that everything is fine.

Pluses are good build quality, water resistance, USB-C charging, an aesthetic display, and generally attractive appearance. However, the downside is the size – the device is quite unwieldy and a bit too thick.
