Waterproof pants

Every angler or hunter has surely found themselves in a situation where the regular material that protected our skin from cold and moisture proved insufficient in pants that constantly rubbed against wet vegetation. Waterproof pants were created precisely for such conditions, so that every outdoor enthusiast could enjoy nature and adventure regardless of the prevailing weather. Every survivalist knows that many things can be unpleasant in the field, but hypothermia is the most dangerous, which is why it's so important to maintain the right temperature, because even a small rain that soaks your clothing can lead to body cooling and chafing. Thousands of years ago, in times of hand-spun materials, people created waterproof fabrics by coating them with beeswax and then subjecting them to a heating process. The wax would flow between the fibers and fill the empty spaces, creating a layer impermeable to water and air. Unfortunately, it turned out that such prepared fabrics were difficult to sew and even harder to wear due to their stiffness and unpleasant texture. In later times, when leather once again became the primary material for clothing, jackets and pants began to be oiled, which prevented water absorption, gave a shine to the tanned leather, and also softened it. 

In the 20th and 21st centuries, many new technologies and ways to create waterproof pants emerged, and the old ones proved insufficient, inappropriate, or expensive. Who in our times would take leather pants to the forest or sailing instead of dedicated warm and lightweight clothing?
