Marpat camouflage is a specific pixelated pattern that is used by the United States Army Marine Corps. Marpat was designed to be more effective than other standard camouflage patterns. Its effectiveness is due to the use of many small pixels arranged in rectangular shapes that blur the boundaries of the wearer's silhouette with the surroundings. According to the study, Marpat camouflage helps delay the detection of a soldier by about 1.5 times compared to other camouflage patterns.
